NEVER insult the old school. The old school will destroy you.

    Issue #14 of Avengers Academy.

The Story: The AA goes to a research lab in Paris in order to stop Electro but the rest of the Sinister Six are not far behind and they defeat the AA.

The Good: I really felt that the Sinister Six are very scary for these kids. There the Sinister Six, they give Spider-Man a run for his money when they face him and I relly like Electro's costume,it really looks cool, scary and badass at the same thing,it's problably the whole being bald thing. It's nice that they also use some tactics that Spidey also used against them but they got defeated enough times to not fall into them. The speech given by the french representitive of stuff was very good and the next one by Pym was also very powerful and wasnt hammy or preachy. The dark art by Sean Chen works so well for the Sinister Six.

The Bad: There was one reference to Charlie Sheen wich in 5 years it will date this comic and really the best way to make pop culture references is to make it about stuff that have stood the test of time and a lot of people know about it.The Korvac name dropping was annoying. Some of the dialogue was kinda cheesy.

The Verdict: This was a very effective issue that shows how much the AA are still training and don't have much experience but there are some annoying pop culture references that will date this comic. This is a buy.

While Pym and Quicksilver are handling a situation in Italy, it comes down to Tigra and the students to handle a break-in by Electro at a tech lab. Of course, as you can probably tell by the cover, Electro's not alone, nor is he the mastermind of this one. This issue is VERY action heavy, I guess to make up for t...

Heroes are made for preventing catastrophes and beating bad guys right? But since our trainees heroes in the Avengers Academy don´t do much of that, the simple task of busting Elektro seems like a golden oportunity, both for experience and showing the world that they are able to play the game, right? It would be, if the entire Sinister Six weren´t invited for the party - in another well writen and amazing issue, Gage throws our young heroes into the thraws of one of the most "beloved" Spider-Man...
