New members revealed... so what else?

After a bunch of very average issues we finally get to see the new line up of the team….and it’s not bad, but then again the book still feels like it’s affected by bendis being in way too many books and we are all paying for it. Sure there is a nice surprise with some members being picked and all but…..still doesn’t feel like the book this is supposed since this issue and the previous one should had been mixed into one since this is going way too slow.

The issue starts as Quake, Nick Fury’s agent is interrogating the ex US agent along with spider woman and hawkeye about Osborn escaping the Raft which they don’t get anything out of him since he was drugged by someone when all this happened. We then get to see civilians outside the mansion exited about the new team as the press seemed to be in debate about all this, but seriously. The people complaining about the heroes and blaming them for every single threat that happens is just getting way too old for my taste (but like how others defend them). Let’s be honest here, Civil War was the government’s fault since they were just waiting for someone to mess up for them to create a superhero army, WWH was caused by one of Hulk’s men (but sure, it was the illuminati’s fault for sending Hulk to space), Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, Siege, Chaos War, Shadowland and Fear Itself were caused by evil gods, aliens, secret organizations, crazy super villains and the government itself for giving Osborn power. And everyone knows this! So why keep on blaming the ones who save them from all this events all the time which without them. Earth would had been (censored) a long time ago…..geez talk about being ungrateful. After a few recruitment and black panther refusing daredevil style they instead gained Storm (wonder how wolvie will feel working with her now that she is with that jackass Cyclops….time will tell) and the reveal that Tony finally managed to revive the original vision which is a nice surprise….oh! and cap recruits Quake at the last second…….weird but it’s something he would do so I’ll let it slip.

The issue ends when the new team being revealed to the public (liked the new avengers one better in it’s first volume) and Norman Osborn comes out of nowhere claiming that he had his rights taken from him.

    The Good:

The original vision is back!! Wait…….the vision is back? The hell? That just came out of nowhere! Guess Bendis knew it was time to revive the guy he brutally killed when Marvel gave the keys of their universe to him (and since I haven’t read much about Vision, this is a great chance to see how he works). Also Red Hulk is still on the team which is great since he would had been wasted potential but I’m also glad instead of a “new line-up” it’s just additions since the surviving Heroic Age members of the team are still there and they really needed a boost of members making it a very powerful team and I'm kinda waiting for the next issue

    The Bad:

Why is spidey not with the rest of the team? He is a member I know but when the team is revealed to the public, he pulled a wolverine by hiding with him even if nobody blames him for spider-island as it is shown on amazing spider-man (probably a little embarrassed from that I guess). Oh! And why the hell does Norman Osborn, a super villain criminal known by the public by now as a lying psychotic warmonger and murderer with many proof of him being totally out of his mind…..would just come to the press conference and claimed that he was stolen from all his rights? This is not a good idea from his part if he wants to win followers right where there is a man with a powerful armor, a weather goddess, a Hulk as well as a bunch of people with the skills to kick the ever living crap out of him (probably he has loyalists among the people) Hope this will result in people not supporting him for once since anyone with a brain knows what he is……..then again, this is the marvel universe where civilians are jerks and it doesn’t help with Bendis loving to make them act stupid (I mean, even if it was a nice idea why the hell would anyone give the green goblin the power of S.H.I.E.L.D? just because he gave the kill shot to a already half dead evil alien queen). Also this story arc is going way too slow, what happened in issue 18 and 19 should had been dealt with in only one....aiming for the trade can be done right if the you work hard on the quality of each issue. Heck! Justice League which is going slow in its first story arc has had much more excitement and awesome moments than any other storyline in the avengers till now. So why can’t the main avenger title, the one Marvel wants everyone to pick up, be great and exiting every single issue? This idea of the “HAMMER War” is great. But the thing doesn’t have to take a bunch of issues to finally get us exited. I’m not giving it any lower because this is not a bad issue, it’s just average but that’s not what a title like this should have a problem constantly.

    Overall: 3/5

Written right, this could have gotten me really exited. But it’s just an average issue which is slowly getting me sick of Bendis messing up issue after issue. And what’s worse is that he believes he can actually write three avenger books. Three!! When he can’t keep high quality constantly on what he is already working on. And now that DC is kicking Marvel’s butt on sales, I hope this is a wake up call and probably getting someone new is a good idea since all Bendis is good at is Ultimate Spider-Man and solo books. (Even in all my resentment towards his work on this two tittles i still know he can write good stuff)
