Avengers #1
If they could make a sequel to the Avengers Movie, I hope it's just like this first issue of Avengers. A few characters that I'm not really familiar with (Ex Nihilo, Aleph, and Abyss) are plotting something big. As the Avengers (Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ironman, Hulk, and Captain America) land on the Red planet, they are easily defeated by these new enemies. Ex Nihilo captures all the Avengers and spares Captain America's beaten and bloody body and sends it to earth as a warning sign to anyone that dares to go against them. I'll leave it at that, because the next scene is worth reading yourself. I was not a big fan of original cover art, but the interior art by Jerome Opena was absolutely beautiful (I'll even dare to say the BEST of all the Marvel Now comics. A hair above the Indestructible Hulk). The story was building up in every page. The best part of this issue was anticipation of who the "new" Avengers team will be. When the earth's mightiest heroes are defeated.. who will answer the call? (4.8 out of 5 - Story stayed exciting throughout the whole book and the cliffhanger was very well built up. When you can't wait for the next issue, you know the comic has done its job.)
