Origin

Working at the Atomic Institute,  Barry Dale discovers that he has assimilated the power of the atom and possesses super strength, flight, super-speed, invulnerability, the ability to weld metal with his hands, and other abilities as a result of working on radium and uranium.  Evidently his body can explode atoms which grants him "atomic strength."
