Established in 1976, Atlantis Fantasyworld has been the premier brick-and-mortar store for comic media in Santa Cruz, CA. Atlantis has been run from three different locations over the course of its life (including the corner or a pavilion tent after the Loma Prieta quake of 1989) before finally settling into its home at the top of Cedar Street in downtown Santa Cruz. Atlantis Fantasyworld offers comics of diverse formats from almost all major publishers, including single issues, graphic novels, omnibus collections, special editions, and trade paperbacks. Of particular note is their collection of Silver- and Bronze-age single issues, many of them quite rare and all in excellent condition. Additionally, Atlantis offers high-quality memorabilia from a multitude of franchises, and often holds deals with the legal movie theater to give discounts on items related to the most recent blockbuster.

Atlantis Fantasyworld was the location of the comic store featured in the 1987 film "The Lost Boys".

Winner of the 1996 Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.
