    Conan

    Asura is the chief god in the land of Vendhya in Hyboria. As a sky god he is related to the weather. His worship bears many similarities to elements of Buddhism and Hinduism. As with many of the creations of Robert E. Howard Asura is a cognate of an actual class of entities venerated among Hindus and Buddhists known as the Asuras.

    Butsu Zone

    In the short-lived manga series, many Buddhist ideas and figures are drawn from for the characters and plots including a villain named Asura who is one of the villainous group opposing the Bodhisavattas/Buddhas and trying to prevent the future incarnation of Maitreya.
