the book of the dead... it is the spell book of a necromancer (dark/death sorcerer) it should be able to do anythig that brings evil to the world or others.

Im pretty sure Spawn has better Necromancy than the Necronomicon.

I say nope, and I have reasons, the Necronomicon(the book of the dead) is used to summon the dead, demons, and evil spirits, but I guess you could summon things to fight them.

I'm not sure if it can beat Spawn though, since spawn is also a God in his own right.

Imo, Ash and Necronomicon=Divine Spawn.
