When Dilton Doiley discovered the existence of the "Glee-niverse," a parallel world with many similarities to his hometown of Riverdale, he attempted to use his "Portal-Porter" to travel to the alternate universe. Unfortunately, a mishap with the controls resulted in several people from both worlds switching places. Artie Abrams was among those who remained in his own universe, unexpectedly meeting the strangers from the world of Riverdale.
