Young Justice Ep. 4 "Drop Zone" Clips & Images

The team goes on a covert recon mission. What are the chances it will go smoothly?

The members of Young Justice wanted respect from their elders. Now that their team has been sanctioned by Batman, it's time to go on their first mission. Their first official assignment is a simple covert recon mission...to the VENOM-producing island of Santa Prisca. The team will soon find themselves caught in a struggle between the deadly Bane and cult leader Kobra for possession of something far worse than they suspected.

Check out an all-new episode, "Drop Zone," on Cartoon Network Friday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. Until then, here are two video clips and images.

Love the Stealth Costumes!

why does the show have to give Bane lips and make him look like a clown?

I love this show!

I'm digging the show so far, although Superboy is a wanker.  I don't remember him being like that in the comic series.  Still, dramatic license and all that.  One of the things I enjoy most is that YJ Robin is a lot more casual and carefree as opposed to the all-business Robin from the Teen Titans cartoon series.  I still think they need to add Wonder Girl to the line up and, I don't know, are there any teenage Green Lanterns around?  How old is Arisia?  I guess with that "dramatic license" they could add her to the group.  Either way, I'll continue to turn into this show on Friday nights.

Lol @ the fact Superboy's stealth costume is the same as his regular one

Robin is like the leader of the team. He does seem to be the smartest.

Nice to see there might be a bit of an unrequited love triangle between Supey, Megan, and Wally to start (poor Wally's gonna lose).

I like that they're doing what a cartoon needs to do- sell alternate action figures- while incorporating it into the story naturally (Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes did it with Space Suits last week so this week the Young Justice are getting Stealth Suits) compared to more forced efforts from the late 80s / early 90s.

Lastly, looks like they're going to deliver on the superheroics and team concept, which is always a concern of mine.  A lot of shows / comics have a powerful premise- Gargoyles "Defenders of the Night"; X-Men "Protect those who fear and hate them"; Avengers "Contain the Breakout"... but then get completely wrapped in their own self-issues and drama that the essential premise is lost.  How often did the Gargoyles actually patrol and stop crime / defend the city versus simply trying to survive or fight off their own drama?  How often were the X-Men actually protecting rather than engaged in mutant civil war?  How incidental has the breakout become to the Avengers? etc.  This episode looks like it's going to deliver on "Young team sent on covert ops by Batman"... hope they keep it up!

I'm starting to like this show, but WHERE THE HELL IS WONDER GIRL?!? =P

Superboy has a different look from the comics. Like some military boots and pants

I got the impression the Aqua Lad was the acting team leader.  He's the one who's the most serious similar to the way Robin was in Teen Titans.

On a side note, Robin wears sunglasses to conceal his identity when not in costume.  Um, what?  Okay, I'm sure its just a cursory action, but still.

From everything that's been said before, Aqualad will be the leader. Robin has more experience but is the youngest on the team (not counting Superboy only being 16 weeks old).

I am loving this series right now.
Just catched up with episode 3.

@mr.obvious: She might appear later in the season. Or the next season. I guess.

Okay, THIS looks really exciting. And we get Danny Trejo as Bane and Arnold Vosloo as Kobra.

Looks like Bane's mask is painted on rather than being a mask.

@PenguinDust: I like superboy being full of angst.

the show is awesome it reminds me of x-force team.

@Crimson Eagle:

That's a mask. It looks painted on due to the art style, but this is more a luchador mask, with exposed mouth and eyes. It would explain the plug in the back of his head.

@TenEyedMen: That's very true.

That last picture kinda looked like Gnarrk.

Bane looks pretty wicked to me. MUCH better then the Batman animated look, or the crappy look he had in The Batman

I am excited that we got some news on this episode because I have been looking around and really couldn't find anything.

between this and the new Avengers toon there's hope for the future with heroes in tv animation.

I sure hope she does, it just doesn't quite feel like the Young Justice team without her =P imo

@ion2001:
I agree. Keep the hairstyle just make his hair black and not blonde. It makes him look like Denis Rodman.

Yeah, it looks more like war paint.
Posted by allhaildoom

I hope Bane isn't the main villan in this episode because he really isn't that big of a threat to people that have powers in the comics.

Posted by TheMinister707

I'm still waiting for Artemis to show up

Edited by NightFang
@allhaildoom: This clip and the plot should tell you Bane not the main threat.

Stealth suits. Win.
Everyone on the team treated equally. Win.

Giving Aqualad some shoes or boots when on land. Logical (he grew up in the sea, his soles aren't tough. I'm just sayin)

good episode...I like this reality's Mammoth

Personally this is turning into one of my favorite cartoons.  RIght now its right under Avengers Assemble.

This show is proof that DC is just too good in animation. I'll say that Marvel is onto something great with Avengers: EMH and they had two special shows with W&XM and Spectacular Spider-Man (although those are unfortunately done). But DC continues to prove that they are masters of animation, be it direct-to-DVD films or TV shows.

What I love most about this show is the pacing. They don't rush through the scenes, yet they succeed in telling the story from A to Z. That's a credit to the crew working on this show. They allow things to simply happen. It's dramatic and humourous at the same time. Each member has their characteristics and it makes for excellent team dynamic. They each possess their own personality and they all contrast each other.

I think that with this show, Avengers: EMH, Batman: Brave and the Bold, and Super Hero Squad Show, we're being treated with very fun animated programming from the Big Two.

Did anyone else catch the Sheila/Dungeons and Dragons reference near the beginning of the episode?  M'gann disappears after flipping her hood up.
