X-Force #20 Reviewed, Is This The End Of X-23?

G-Man reviews the latest issue featuring lots of violence.

Here we have what could be the end of X-23.  In case you haven't been keeping up, X-23 has been taken by the Facility and had her arm cut off by Kimura.  Things aren't looking too good (unless you're talking about the art and colors, then things look amazing).

I love when Craig Kyle, Christopher Yost, Mike Choi and Sonia Oback are all working on the book.  With Kyle and Yost writing, you know the book is in safe hands.  The art team of Choi and Oback just knocks me off my feet.

Things aren't looking too good for X-23 and now Wolverine is starting to feel the urge to be a father figure.  What makes that interesting is this book is supposed to allow Logan to just go all out and let his savage nature out on the missions.  But with X-23 in danger, he's feeling responsible for her.  Will we see more of Logan struggling to be a better 'dad'?  If so, what about Daken?  And who knows if he has any other kids running around.

There is also a little bit of closure with Wolfsbane.  She's been away from the team for some time.  Knowing how Yost and Kyle like to make things tough on the characters, we can assume her homecoming might not be the most joyous one.

To me, X-Force is just a fun book.  They're not tied to the moral obligations that the other X-teams are.  They don't have to put on a public face.  They do what is necessary to get the job done.  Kyle and Yost manage to come up with these dire situations month after month.  And I simply can't go on enough about the art here.  While the issue may not have been earth-shattering, I just really enjoyed reading it.
