Writing and Villain Updates for 'Arrow'

More information about the upcoming show is being released.

On October 10, the CW will be premiering the first episode of Arrow. The clips from the show have been promising and after seeing the pilot episode myself, I can say we're off to a great start.

To make it all even better, some new information has been released to make comic fans even more happy. Last Friday DC announced that Geoff Johns would be writing an episode of the show. He's been involved with the production and is stepping up to pen an episode as well. It will be episode 107 entitled "Muse on Fire." This is what Johns had to say about it:

I'm thrilled to be writing this episode of ARROW, and while I can't give too much away, I think comic fans are going to like what we have in store for them – keep an eye out for the Huntress.

That's not all. Today Zap2It has announced that the Royal Flush Gang will be appearing on the show as well. They will appear in episode 106 entitled "Legacies."

Sure the Royal Flush Gang might not be seen as the absolute coolest team in comics but the fact that we are seeing actual villains being used rather than just nameless thugs or villains, is a good thing. The show's creators have been vocal that they will not be shying away from using characters from the comics. Seeing how they're translated onto the small screen will be something to see.

Arrow premieres Wednesday, October 10 on the CW at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Might be a good fit, but its one of those odd teams that can be really powerful in one appearance (like when they last squared off against the JLA) and be really weak in another (like when the Joker beat them all up single handedly in Infinite Crisis).

I hoping the show is good

Sorry for this but how is Geoff Johns going to be an episode? :p

I LOVE the Royal Flush Gang! And I LOVE the Huntress always. You know something? I'm definitely going to watch and see what they do with the Huntress and if it's well done well then I'll absolutely stick around with the series. A few weeks go I was very, very, very skeptical but now I've done a 180...well, almost, we'll have to see if it's worth my while.

Well that is pleasant news.

Sounds good. I was waiting for a show to deal with my smallville fix.

I'm now curious as to why the Royal Flush Gang never appeared in Smallville...

I have a soft spot for the RFG because of their connection to Booster Gold as well as to Batman Beyond.

Do you mean episode 10 or 17, when I saw that it was Episode 107 I was really confused.

Actor Kyle Schmid will portray Ace of the RFG.

And there was filming of a bank robbery.

He's supposed to be Ace? Ace is supposed to be a girl...

@NightFang: Ace? Are you sure you have the correct info?

@Gambit1024: Looks more along the lines of King.

107 = season 1, episode 7

Yeah all Joker did was beat them up.

This is great news. Plus I like the Royal Flush Gang, a gang a wealthy criminals fits with Green Arrow I think. And probably once the show takes off we could get more cameos and established comic characters/villains in the show. Who knows, maybe one day it could be Roy Harper.

Wow... The Royal Flush Gang sound like a good recurring villain team for the show.

@NightFang: Well it was not really the point if he beat them up, tortured them or killed them.

I'm really excited to see TRFG!

Well this show keeps giving me stuff to look forward too.

It sounds amazing!

Sounds great.

Goog I like the Idea of keeping close to comics in the show. Green Arrow has so many stories left to be made. I think TV can make a few new ones for the show just fine!

Never had an interest in Smallville but Green Arrow is looking cool.

I reaaaallly love who they've chosen to play Huntress. Well, in terms of appearence (I haven't seen her act before). Jessica De Gouw is her name. Also, I'm glad they've included Huntress, as it's pretty obvious 'Laurel' will just be there to romance Oliver and have no real fighting abilities/metahuman abilities.

I am slightly sceptical to see how Geoff Johns writes women but we'll see...

Royal Flush Gang looks interesting.  I never felt they were good enough to be a threat the JLA but in this case it might fit them better.

sounds cool

If the Royal Flush gang is going to be like the one from JL:TAS episode "Wild Cards" then this definitely peaks my interests. Ace :D

Super excited for this show. I know a lot of people are saying that it's going to be crap but from what I've seem this show is going to rock.

Okay... I gotta see this. The name Royal Flush Gang... Gotta see how they are live.

Posted by haydenclaireheroes

I really think this show is going to be a hit

I'm making $86 an hour working from home. I was shocked when my neighbour told me she was averaging $95 but I see how it works now. I feel so much freedom now that I'm my own boss. This is what I do, Red97.com

The royal flush gang is my favorit villain-team!

Posted by DEGRAAF

i actually really liked the royal flush gang. Im surprised Arrow gets to use them though since ithought they were Superman or Batmans villains or the JLA's villains

I have great expectations... it was really smart of them to make a TV series instead of a movie or something. They can add more characters and offer fans an alternative, as many don't seem to be enjoying his current title...

So flipping excited about this show. I know they are taking a few liberties, but I was excited to hear about Geoff Johns. Can't wait
