WonderCon '09: Wendy Pini, RedLAMP's Favorite

The artist and co-creator of Elfquest talks to us.

Wendy Pini is the artist and co-creator of Elfquest.  Both Red L.A.M.P. and myself are big fans of the Pinis.  I tried getting LAMP to ask some questions but he insisted on completing his task as my camera man for the day.  Elfquest is a great comic and is going to be made into a movie.  Check out Elfquest.com to find out more.

Ah, I love ElfQuest. Such a great story and characters.  I got my wife -- who does not read comics -- to read an issue, then she proceeded to read all the books!

Go read it!

Possibly the best interviewee thus far, and obviously a nice lady.  I was distracted by her beautiful butterfly choker.  *I'm weird*  I can see her face reflected in her characters in Elfquest, kind of interesting.

I'm very curious to see how they will translate Elfquest into a movie.  At least the director is someone who is actually a fan instead of a person who doesn't know the subject.

It'd be great if  "A Distant Soil" could get optioned for a movie.  At least the studios are paying attention to comics and subject matter that aren't strictly super heroes.

She was awesome.  I cannot wait for the movie.  Hopefully it'll happen this time.

I hope so too! I'm totally psyched for it now, and I've never read Elfquest! I can't wait to dive into the story, and no doubt I'm hitting up that website she mentioned.
