If you take a look at DC's Trinity titles ( Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) you may notice something odd about Wonder Woman's book. Unlike the Batman and Superman volumes whose numbers are well into the six and seven hundreds, Wonder Woman is on issue 38. Her series is currently split into three volumes. If you count up the total number of volumes, however, you will see that the total number of issues as of now leaves us at 594; which means that June 2010 will be her 600th issue. Realizing this, Wonder Woman fans banded together and requested that DC give their Princess a special #600 issue. After receiving 712 postcards from Wonder Woman fans everywhere, Editor-in-Chief of DC Comics Dan Didio resolved to give the fans what they wanted, Wonder Woman #600.
The response to our call for Wonder Woman postcards was spectacular, and we got the message loud and clear. We asked for 600 and by the Oct 31st cut off, we had an overwhelming 712 postcards (nearly 800 by the time of this writing), so as a man of my word, starting in June 2010, DC’s Wonder Woman series will celebrate its 600th issue and continue on from there. And we promise that Diana’s anniversary issue will be one to remember!
To commemorate the event, The Source revealed a picture of Wonder Woman by George Perez. What do you guys think? Do you think that it is a good or bad thing to have Wonder Woman re-numbered at issue 600?
@Nighthunter: I don't care what he has done in the past. That image is horrible and demeaning to the influence Wonder Woman has been in the comic industry and to DC alone. That looks like something I would of done in the sixth grade.

that's why I didn't talk about the image but on the comment about the choice of the artist.....
I can't think of any artist who would be better suited to do a cover of wonder woman than George Perez in a milestone issue. I do agree that the image isn't good and that's why I believe it is just part of the cover or a promotional image.
Also it is obvious that this image was hurt even more because it doesn't look like the inks of Perez and makes it look even worse

I guess the fans will have to start sending in more post cards to get that image redone if that ends up being the cover. That picture is practically insulting. It's almost the epitome of the back handed compliment. There is absolutely nothing dynamic about that picture. Nothing that speaks to her characters decades of history and influence in the series. Here's hoping that picture is just something that was thrown together the last minute by some member of the accounting office and doesn't wind up being the cover for the issue 600. The concern over the number of the issue is pretty superficial, but it couldn't harm anything either since it's just a number. It's not like it changes her story or diminishes her in any way. "
better artist? George Perez is a living legend in comics, more importantly he is one of the most important writers//drawers for the character
Wow, you guys are right, that is NOT a very good likeness of Wonder Woman. George Perez REALLY drew Wonder Woman...wonderfully....pun intended...back in the day. Its her face that is disappointing. I could NOT do any better but yeah, its not his best stuff.
Regardless, its nice to know Wondie's fans went to bat for her and are making this happen.

I'm so excited for this! Guhh, why is June 2010 so far away?! I hope it's a super-sized issue or something special like that. And about that George Perez cover...ummm, I like how the lasso makes a 600? Oh, who am I kidding, it's really damn freaky-looking.
I think it's great to see puplishers giving the fans what they want. If you read Dan Didio's original challenge, he explained why he personally was against it, but left it up to popular vote. That was really swell of DC.
