Wolvernine Origins Is Getting Reshoots

Extensive reshoots are happening in Vancouver.

Outta the hot tub Wolverine, you have more work to do
I think it's safe to say that we were all pretty impressed with the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" trailer.  I was a little worried when I heard all the different characters being thrown into his "origin" that really shouldn't be there.  Giving the filmmakers the benefit of the doubt, I was willing to accept any changes made and just enjoy the movie.

Collider has reported that "extensive reshoots" are happening in Vancouver.  That could mean two things.  One, it could mean that with all the money Fox should be getting from Warner Bros. from the Watchmen case, they've decided to go and make the Wolverine movie even better.  The second thing it could mean is the movie was in desparate need of the reshoots.

Word has been that director Gavin Hood hadn't been able to make the movie he wanted to make while Fox was going around and changing things.  There's also reports that Richard Donner of all people was on the set too possilby giving some input.

Let's hope that these reshoots are to make a good film into a great film.  I hope it's not the case that the film is in dire need of them.  A lot is riding on this movie.  There's the possiblity of Wolverine sequels.  I'd love to see Wolverine in Japan like in the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller Wolverine limited series from years back.  There's also the potential Deadpool and Gambit movies we'd all love to see.  Let's hope this turns out as great as it should be.  Wolverine's 'origin' should be epic.

Well.....it can only make the movie better. I was also worried about all the characters that they are throwing in. I'm wondering what year this is going to be based in? That will play a big part of the success of the movie for me.

I don't really see the big deal about Gambit, Deadpool another story like maybe in the film he should look at the camera and be like i think i read this somewhere in a comic book by marvel or ryan reynolds is a fantastic actor. Just to break the forth wall but we won't see that, or maybe not. A Deadpool movie i would love to see maybe Cable and Deadpool. This is my most Anticipated Comic movie of the year.

Reshoots are conserning admittedly.

When involving a lot of characters, it's really important that each of these key characters gets enough screen time.  In some ways, it's even difficult.  On one hand, each of the "main event" style characters (Gambit, Deadpool, etc.) needs enough screen time.  If they only had a two-minute cameo, it would majorly stink.  However, it has to be done in a way which will keep the movie going and not make it seem too drawn out.

It is hard to say whether or not this is a bad omen.  I agree with the sentiment regarding all the characters in place that weren't necessarily part of Wolvie's earlier background.  While it's neat to have these Marvel characters present, it still would be nice if SOME efforts were made stay a little close to his actual origin.  That's what the title of the movie is, after all.

It almost seems as if some were thrown in to get us more excited.  I love Gambit as much as the next person but I don't recall him being part of Wolvie's origin.  Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing him finally on the big screen.  I do hope these reshoots don't mean the cut (so far) was weak.

I don't think Gambit will have anything to do with Wolverine's actual "origin". This is what could detract from the actual story with these series of subplots. You can briefly glimpse Storm as a little girl in the trailer. To me that SHOULD only mean that they are going with Gambit's first appearance, only without Storm having been de-aged, heh.
There is the Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale miniseries called "Wolverine/Gambit: Victims" in a Jack-the-Ripper setting that may or may not carry some influence on the movie.

Let's hope the reshoots are a good omen.

Reshoots make me think that there were things to improve upon.

Hopefully, they'll still make it an awesome movie.

Reshoots mean something someone doesn't like. I hope this doesn't stall the release date..
But if it makes it better i guess that's okay. I'm just really excited to see this movie..!

Let's hope for the best.

Reshoots could be a good or bad sign but i'm agreeing with G'bandit

"extensive reshoots" are very rarely ever a good thing. if the movie was suitable for distribution it wouldn't need reshooting. this means one thing. its subpar so dont get your hopes up.

I think that they shouldn't add all of these characters, because not all of them are involved in
Wolverine's orgins. The only characters I think should be in the movie is Wolverine,Deadpool,Glob,
Lady Death Strikes, Sabertooth, sliverfox, willaim striker,Gambit,  Rouge, and Apha Fright.

Hopefully they're adding more Deadpool scenes, eh?

Almost every film gets re-shoots. Most likely what happened was after a first screening of the film to an audience, they all had problems with certain scenes, said scenes are cut, and now they need new short scenes to connect what was cut or expositional dialogue to fill in the audience. As for the "extensive" part, that doesn't happen quite as often. The last time I remember that being used was for Snakes on a Plane, when they wanted to make it more of a rated R film.

If reshoots make he movie better, then I'm all for it. But I do like it when things get done right the first time.

if you've listened to any director's commentaries, or read/seen any interviews with directors, you would've seen them talk about re-shoots.

re-shoots are normal for all films, ESPECIALLY for action type films with massive action sequences and the like.

every production budgets for re-shoots.

perfectly normal.

still.... it could mean the film won't live up to our high expectations! :P

UPDATE

Seems Hugh Jackman sent an email over to Aintitcool.com.  Here's part of what he had to say:
I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we've got much more in store!

I always pictured Owen Wilson as Deadpool.

Personally, I didn't have much hope in this movie. It seemed too far from the comic version of his origins and too many characters seemed to bee thrown in just too draw in a crowd. I really want to see Gambit on screen, I mean who doesn't, but not in a Wolverine movie. Same goes for Deadpool, it's not that I wouldn't want to see him in a Wolverine movie. I just don't want to see him thrown in for fanboy value. I also think they could of put more effort into making him more like the Deadpool we all know and love. A red shirt and a couple swords just don't cut it. Another thing is why did Sabertooth go from like half a foot taller than Logan in X Men to like 3 inches shorter in this movie? And what happened to the black eyes and blonde lion-like hair? Tyler Mane definitely had the look. He should of be hired for this movie as well. This movie should also be rated R. Silver Fox should be raped and murder in quite a brutal fashion. What was with Logan cradling her on some beach? She didn't looked very violated. Oh! Maverick.... Why?! Nothing about that guy say Christoph Nord. At first I thought that guy was suppose to be Agent X but I was shocked to find out he's actually playing "David North/ Agent Zero" I mean....Gosh. Talk about major upset. With that said Beak and Blob shouldn't be in this movie. And whoever Weapon XI is should be written out of the story. Same goes for Emma Frost, Cyclops, Storm and "Logan's Half Brother", who I'm guessing is suppose to be Dog Logan.... All around I think I'll just pretend this movie doesn't exist. Unless it's rewritten for the better. As of yet there hasn't been a X Men related movie to match the greatness of the first one. When will that change?

Posted by King Quisling

Oh, and why do they portray Logan fighting in the Civil War? O.o If you didn't catch that watch the trailer again. There's a scene where he's rockin' a Union uniform and a musket! -sigh-

IESB is the one that first mentioned that.  Apparently a reader at that site brought it up.  I hope there's actually some truth to this.
