Win A Costume Design Internship By Entering New York Comic-Con Costume Contest

Win a costume design internship on the set of the upcoming 'NEW-GEN: Deadalus Rising' movie.

If you've ever dreamed of designing costumes for a major motion picture, then you may not want to miss out on a chance to win the costume contest for the upcoming 80-million dollar motion picture, NEW GEN: Deadalus Rising at New York Comic-Con in a couple of weeks.

One week ago A.P.N.G. Enterprises revealed that at this year's New York Comic-Con (October 10th to the 14th) they would be launching an open casting call for the three central characters in the upcoming film and they would host a cosplay costume contest at the upcoming convention.

If you are interested in participating in the costume design contest, be sure to head to the NEW GEN booth at New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at 4:30 PM.

There will be two lucky winners of the cosplay contest; one winner of best non-NEW GEN costume, and the second winner of the best costume based on a NEW GEN character. Winner #1 (best non- NEW GEN costume) will receive a one week long paid internship on the set of the upcoming film and a chance to get hands on in the costume design process. Winner #2 (best NEW GEN based costume) will receive a two week long paid internship on the set of their upcoming film production and a role as an extra in the upcoming film. Not only would this be a great experience for cosplay aficionados, but it's a great chance to work on the set of a feature film and learn the ins and outs of the movie industry.

In order to be considered eligible to win, costumers must create costumes based off NEW GEN characters or props from the main story. You can see a list of NEW GEN characters here.

If you are an aspiring actor or actress and are interested in participating in the open casting call, head to the NEW GEN booth (#1628) on Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 1 - 3 PM. To set up an audition appointment or for information on how to gain access into the show, feel free to contact talent@promoguys.com. Attendees interested in auditioning will have a chance to read in front of the film's producers and director. Currently they are in search of two 18-year old identical twin male leads, Chris and Sean, or one male actor who can play both roles as well as a female actress to play 20-year old Carmen.

If you miss out on a chance to audition at NYCC then fear not, the casting is set to go on a nationwide tour through November and December in search for the right people for the role. Additionally, if you want to enter the costume design contest but can't make it to New York Comic-Con, you can submit your video or photo entry via email to cosplay@promoguys.com by October 12th, 2012 at 6PM Eastern.

What do you think? Does this sound like something you would be interested in doing? Be sure to check out the sketches for the different costumes below. Is this something you are interested in doing?

This is a great oppertunity for people who enjoy cosplay and design. One to two weeks just seems kind of a short internship.

So this is a cosplay contest? Not a character design contest?

That'd be awesome to go just to see all the costumes people came up with, but unfortunately I'm 3000 miles away from New York :/
