Will Stan Lee Appear In The Venom Movie?

Apparently he's in the script...

I debated whether or not to report this the other day.  As you know, a Venom movie is being planned.  There's no word on how it will tie into Spider-Man 3, if at all.  Sony is aware of Venom's popularity and it's a smart move to try to make a movie while they retain the rights.  Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (co-writers and executive producers of Sony's upcoming Zombieland) gave Sony a pitch and things are looking good for the duo.

Reese and Wernick recently spoke to Superherohype and discussed the project.  Despite the movie only being in the planning stages, they (and other sites) are reporting that Stan Lee will appear in the movie.

Why was I hesitant to report this?  For one thing, it hasn't been officially confirmed.  This report was from a bit overlooked in an interview with Reese and Wernick from back in April.  What they say is that Stan Lee is " in the script."  That doesn't mean he's actually going to appear.  We also had some talk over this when I reported Stan's role in Iron Man 2.  He seems to only appear in movies based on characters he actually created.  Will he break that tradition and appear in the Venom movie (if the movie actually happens)?  The writers could write me into their script but that doesn't mean I'd be in the movie.

Do you think Stan should appear in a movie if he wasn't involved with creating the character?  What do you think the Venom movie would be like?  Most likely it wouldn't be directly tied to Spider-Man.
