Why Do Superheroes Wear Boots?

Alot of heroes who wear gloves have weapons and gadgets in them.

Arana doesn't wear heels...she wears generic skateboarding shoes. But then  again shes a kid.

I would say because regular shoes would look stupid with the rest of their tights costume.

Soldiers wear boots and the old heroes were cowboys or medieval knights, so I figure that's why everyone draw heroes with boots :D

Well, I might not know much about it but I know this: Flash and Quick silver must have blisters the size of pancakes at the end of their day XD

I can run fast in heels to but it just means i got good balance XDD

Because majority of comics are geared towards men, and heeled boots elongate the leg and body creating more sexual appeal? 

It's kinda like why do female characters wear these tiny little outfits?  Not just in comics... but in video games and other medias.  Because it creates more appeal for the majority customer.
Even I have gotten a lot of criticism on my 3D female models, because I model them with smaller breasts (A-B cup), and all of my friends and instructors say the same thing.  It's nice to see more realism in my models and some over all variety, but in the games industry, the girls need some more "kadonk-a-donk".

Anyways, back to the topic of boots...  it's all about sex sells.  That's my thought on it anyhow.

Boots keep the snow out. You never know when an ancient god is going to summon a freak snowstorm heralding it's second coming...

"Funny you should use the word logic when you were basically making the case that realism doesn't matter.There is no logic in having female superheroes wear heels.If the heels or whatever shoes they want to wear fit with their costume I have no problem with it.If all the female characters or most of them just wear boots and it fits with their costume and also makes more sense to wear boots because they have to be mobile..I don't see the point and making comics more unrealistic by just now making female characters wear heels."
