The line on the cover is also "There can only be one" which might be a reference to what Iron Fist said in New Avengers 25 where Hope asked if she was going to be an Iron Fist and Danny's response was "No I'm Iron Fist, and there can only be one" Then Iron Fist's master Lei Kung(The guy who's always on the team roster pages in the beginning) said "Maybe"

Not to mention that in Avengers vs. X-men 6 when they tried to get hope cyclops' black was blocked by a mystic shield that came out of Iron Fist, and they also reference the story a little in issue six.

also Iron Fist's hand is only one facing us and it's in the middle, so kind of looks like it's already in his grasp and everyone else is reaching for it.

I think it took place a little bit earlier than 100 years ago, seeing as how Leonardo Da Vinci was a character in it.

I think the Phoenix is going back Jean, today Marvel released a teaser about Jean's possible return I think it might be returning to her, I hope so. If not, I rather Rachel again or maybe Hope. But NO Avengers should be the new host--.

In the last year, wasn't there a line in like the Point One book or a Spider-man Book that said Spider-Man was destined to be the greatest hero of them all? Could that reference this, or the "This is War" teaser?

This is seriously making my head hurt.....I just want this event over and for UXM to not have any events nor be involved in ANY events for a long time.

It would be a bit presumptuous to think that the PF is going to Jean and that she's going to be coming back. It would be a nice thought but it would be something that all fans would be expecting. In all honesty who knows who's going to get it at the end of all this brouhaha.

• Growing up in the Claremont era and now looking at what is happening to uncanny, I am slightly devastated. I don't think I would mind if Jean comes back but maybe someone could tell me how "I am one with the phoenix" became no longer with the phoenix :S. Plus... if iron man or any avenger were to get the PF I think I would stop reading all together.
• I love the iron man films and avengers film but if marvel comics are now going to be dominated by who is popular in the movies and not the other way around I think it would be a shame. I know I'm probably ranting but it has been brewing in me for a while aha, I thought that the phoenix was that powerful that it needed a suitable host, Jean managed to become one with it, Rachael managed to maintain part of it, the P5 have managed to start crumbling under it
• How the hell would One of the 6 hands reaching up in that picture be able to control it without it ripping them apart. Unless it is Iron Fist it makes no sense. Toad may as well be the phoenix seeing as it seems just about anybody can be now.

Issue 9 had Spider-man on the cover and the synopsis said "It all comes down to Spider-man".

Dear god Marvel if your listening don't you dare screw up Spider-man by giving him another connection to the Phoenix force. I do not want to see Spider-Phoenix ever again it looked stupid the first time and now will be no different!

MY TAKE ON THIS SERIES? NO ONE WILL TAKE THE PHOENIX AND THE PHOENIX WONT CHOSE ANY HOST. FROM THE WAY I SEE IT, IT WOULD BE THE PHOENIX VS ALL MUTANTS. HAHA THIS WOULD BE FUN.
