What Do You Think Of DC's Upcoming "Wednesday Comics"?

DC's next weekly comic will be in a newspaper-type comics format.

I have to admit that I'm on the fence with DC's upcoming weekly newsprint comics.  I suppose it is something different.  According to DC's The Source, each "issue" will be 16 pages printed on broadsheet-size newsprint.  The stories will be by different creators each week.  Unless I've missed it, I'm not sure what the price will be. 

Here's some images courtesy of the Source.  Superman by John Arcudi and Lee Bermejo.  Batman by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso.  Kamandi by Dave Gibbons and Ryan Sook.  The good thing is it will allow for some experimentation.  The even better thing, check out the Metamorpho page.  I can't get enough of Mike Allred's art with Laura Allred's colors.

Hadn't heard about any of this, thanks for posting it.  IDK.   However, all the artwork is impressive, to say the least,  great detail and very vivid colors.   Allred representin'--awesome.  Question is, given the fact these are newsprint and only 16 pages each, will the costs be less than regular comic books?  I would imagine they might be, as a guess, but having them weekly--man, it's hard to say with these,  Interesting concept, gotta give DC kudos for giving this a shot.

Gonna have to check it out.
I love these types of comics with more than one character and story in them. Anthologies, lol
If they use new and good talent I think it's a great way to introduce new creaters into the industry.

R.E.B.E.L.S, Vigilante and Madame Zanadu have went on my list of comics to read. I'm never gonna have time to myself anymore.

I'm kind of excited actually. It's good and its something different. I'm loving the art in the first panel (Superman). Looks ridiculous!

I'm hyped as hell because of the creative line-up attached. Hope they don't hook craptacular people like, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb and Brad Meltzer. I'd like them to keep it "major league". I wonder why isn't Grant Morrison attached?
