For the past few weeks we've been seeing the X-Men: Regenesis teasers. Once they started rolling out, it was clear that they would fit together. With today's reveal of Havok on X-Factor, it now appears we have all the pieces. That is all the X-books now, right? Throughout all the teasers, two common themes could be seen.
You'll notice the different colors. Because of Schism and the falling out between Cyclops and Wolverine along with the previous teaser we saw of a divide, we know the X-members will be choosing sides. Now we can begin to speculate what this means. We haven't seen much of Cyclops (although he did pop up on a different teaser for Uncanny X-Men #1) but it's we can assume who is on Team Wolverine and who is on Team Cyclops.
It makes sense that Emma would be with Cyclops and even Nate Grey but what about Jubilee? Shouldn't she be on Wolverine's side? And what the heck is Sebastian Shaw doing hanging around?
On the Gold team having X-Force with Wolverine makes perfect sense. We're not sure if Wolverine will still be on X-Force but we can only hope he will be and wasn't shown on both because these images were meant to be put together.
The addition of Havok on X-Factor seems odd due to his recent adventures in space with the Starjammers. Is he going to be settling back on Earth by being part of X-Factor Investigations? Is he going to try to lead the team or follow orders from Madrox? I like my X-Factor separate from the rest of the X-Universe. Hopefully this won't drag them into whatever X-shenanigans that are coming along.
The other thing to note is the X-Men did have separate Blue and Gold teams back in 1991. For example, Uncanny X-Men #281 marked the first issue of the Gold while the Chris Claremont/Jim Lee X-Men series had the Blue team.
The other question that remains is the rest of the shadows. Who are the other members of each team? We'll most likely find out soon. Let's hope Marvel doesn't start re-releasing each separate image with one more character from the shadow revealed. Although we do have time before October.
