Watch the Opening Cinematic for 'Injustice: Gods Among Us'

The voice acting is fairly terrible, if I'm honest. I could do a more convincing Batman, and I'm Scottish.

EDIT: @k4tzm4n I'm aware that it's Kevin Conroy, but that doesn't make him impervious to criticism. I'll concede, however, that it may be the fault of the script, rather than the actor. 'Superman! Don't!', for example, just makes me cringe. It's not Batman.

Uh... that would be quite impressive seeing as that's Kevin Conroy, the man who's pretty much the definitive voice of animated Batman.

@saranth:Um, that's Kevin Conroy. AKA, the Batman throughout all the animated series, including the 90's.

@saranth: Yeah, like everyone's said, that's Kevin Conroy, the definitive Batman voice. The real issue in this is the voice of the Joker. It's not Mark Hamill and it definitely shows.

Honestly I have seen much prettier cut-scenes (or whatever this is) from a fighting game... years ago.

No, Arkham City was Hamil's last time as the Joker, which makes the ending quite fitting.

LOL. Yes. Pretty unimpressed with the animations, voice work, and overall production value after seeing games like Arkham City. It'll still probably be a fun Mortal Kombat type game though.

So yeah, that's having a gripe with the script first and foremost, not the delivery, which is what your initial post heavily implied.

Aw why is everybody bashing Joker's voice? Richard Epcar has vastly improved since MK vs DCU IMO.

@themanintheshoe: I don't mind moving on but there's just no one that gives even half the performance Hamil does the only one that come close was John DiMaggio and I still have a problem with his performance like I have with this guy, his voice just does match the Joker he's to gruff they sound like doing impressions of Joker and not being Joker.

Well damn.... That's put a new perspective on things. Imagine a world where Superman always kills his enemies. No one would try anything. If they tried anything, they'd know, Clarke will find them, and he will kill them.

CG looks kind of meh really. However I'm still interested in this game.

Meh. I just can't get into this. I hate evil/crossed-the-line Superman. It's been done and it really makes me dislike the character. Can Superman not be portrayed as a decent, good-guy hero anymore? I just do not like the DCU so gritty. I would've preferred a DC fighting game with a Super Smash Bros vibe rather than a Mortal Kombat vibe. Also, Joker's voice is awful.

On the plus side, it does make me want a big budget animated Justice League movie even more than I did before.

The Superman costume redesign is really bad... I couldn't look away from his crotch. Who though it was a good idea to replace the underwear with a huge-looking thong?

How come no GCPD agents reacted when Superman crashes through the building to confront the man that blew up Metropolis? Wouldn't someone be a little concerned?

And why did they give Supes briefs? I thought the new 52 did away with the underoos.

People need get over Mark Hamill already, he was amazing but now its time for some new takes on the joker voice. I also don't think that voice actors should have to try to sound like him or out do him. This voice actor actually sounds pretty good, I think I like him better than John DiMaggio.

this is cheesy. The Joker is just horrible. I know I'll be hating him in the game.

@themanintheshoe: Mark Hamill has said he's not doing the Joker voice anymore. That was his choice. I believe he said if they did a animated film based off the Killing Joke storyline he would consider doing Joker for that. I'll admit nobody did it like him but DiMaggio and the actor in this game are not terrible.

One thing I like about this part more than in the comic is that Superman hesitated at first. He wanted so bad to kill Joker, but he stopped himself. It took some pushing on Joker's behalf to get him to do it. "You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!"

@the_average_bear: Because GCPD's walls being knocked down is a normal thing. And also the GCPD are more worried about Metropolis.

As far as the visuals and audio go (so, you know, the entire basis of the cinematic), that was one of the most terribly unappealing things I've ever seen in my life. Superman's "armor" was obviously riding up a bit too much, everything was really muddy, the audio seemed off, the debris in Metropolis was practically non-existent compared to something like the DCUO opening cinematic, and I'm pretty sure that first black cop we see has a few clones running around at GCPD, because I swear he ran past himself in that first shot. Very, very disappointing.

@z3ro180: Because this Superman is from a different universe. And each Superman has a unique look.

Can we just stop over-thinking the costume designs for these games? Everything that's added to the Arkham Batman design is patently terrible, but this reaches new lows to be sure. I mean, fine, Netherrealm want to armor these guys up some to put some Mortal Kombat flair into them, but Superman looks almost spitefully designed.

@thebluedragon07 I know it's a different earth but the costume he's wearing in the cut scene is the costume he wears when he is leading the regim and not the one he wore in the injustice comic witch is the defult one in the game

That cutscene was terrible. The writing, voice acting, animations, and graphics were all below standard. And the costumes look really stupid, they tried way to hard to make the costumes look like armor instead of tights.

Yeah, I love the optimistic heroic Superman. He's a hero. But how absolutely tragic is it that nobody can wrap their head around the concept of someone with power using it for the greater good? That's what Superman is all about. Having the power to do anything and using to help others.
