The wait is almost over, friends. Next Tuesday, Injustice Gods Among Us will be yours to own (in North America, that is... shortly after everywhere else). You'll finally be able to break Batman's back as Bane or obliterate your foes as Superman. In case the wait is still killing you, Gamestop has released the fighter's opening cinematic. If you've been reading the digital comic (we're automatically best friends if you are), then you know the terrible event that sets Superman on a new path. If you don't want spoilers, back out now.
Here's how it went down in the comic up until this video. The Joker and Harley Quinn abducted a pregnant Lois Lane (Clark's of course the father). Superman shows up to save the day, but suddenly he sees Doomsday. Eager to get him out of the picture, he grapples the fiend and flies him into orbit. Except it wasn't Doomsday... it was actually Lois. Joker mixed fear gas and kryptonite to mess with the Man of Steel... and the end result is Clark killing his lover and unborn child with his own hands. As if that's not terrible enough, there was a monitor on Lois' heart. The second it stopped beating, a nuke detonated in Metropolis and killed millions. Joker's now in custody and... well, you'll see how Superman reacts.
If you've been following along in the comics, then you'll of course notice the conversation and course of events in the scene are completely different. However, the bloody outcome remains the same. Yeesh.
