Wow, not only does it look more alien, but it also looks like the old symbol supes used to where WAY back in the day, or as some would reffer to it as the Earth 2 Superman symbol, Pre-Flashpoint of course! And to those who apperently missed what the new costume look like...

It actually looks kind of alien which is neat kind of feel neutral about though, I'm pretty sure it's not going to the s sheild he's going to wear though.

The burnish red color or blood stained S symbol and snake head makes me think of Satan.

...you know, they missed a good chance here, not using Metallo as the main villain in a Superman film called 'Man of Steel'...

Yes it is a stylized S for the poster but for me this is the first time I was able to see the subtle changes made to the S (that are visible on Cavil's suit). The end of the S isn't rounded anymore and the top end of the S isn't squared off either as they stretch it's ends to the shields border. And the middle section of the S is a lot bigger. It doesn't look as cool on the suit as it does on the banner obviously, the banner really makes the changes stand out.

They're definitively going to the "alien" side of the Superman mythos. Not sure if I like what Hollywood graphic designers come up with nowadays...

To those saying "it's just another \S/" they have to look closer to the minor touches they've made to it that make it look more ALIEN.

Rumor has it that a teaser trailer may appear before The Dark Knight Rises. We'll have to wait and see.

That adds one reason to go see it >:D, though is a teaser trailer (damn D:)

I like it, of course the orignial symbol is better but this one is pretty cool!

Um, people do realize that this S Shield is just stylized for the banner right? It isn't those colours on Cavill's Superman costume. People all over the internet are acting like he has a new logo (or at least new colours) and he does not. They are saying the S that Superman now wears is dark and edgy even though we have had pics of Cavill in costume with the traditional red and yellow S for months already..

It is like looking at the classic Superman poster for the 1978 film which shows the S Shield in silver and assuming that Superman in the movie must be wearing a silver costume, even though we have pics of Christopher Reeve in costume showing otherwise! So it's just a promo pic! What is wrong with Internet "journalists"?! OK, rant over. lol

there has not been a good Superman movie since Superman 2. Crowe as Jor-El bad idea. Not holden my breath but i hope i am wrong.

I was looking at the new super suit again last night, I think the new 52 costume is way better...
