Costumes wise, love the whole new 52/modern influence of MK team with the armor. AWESOME! It's hard not to be excited for this game if you're a DC fan or even comics fan. I'll take photo realistic looking comic fighters over that anime looking crap any day. Just my preference.

i love both games and i have to say there's nothing wrong with a fighting game being "too technical"..in fact i love tekken and of course mortal kombat too..as well as street fighter. and the num ber of copies sold and reviews doesn't make a game better or worse... i have to point out the error in ur assumption... as of 2011 "mk vs dc" had sold 1.9 million copies and "mk9" has sold 3 million copies... whereas "tekken 6" had sold 3.5 million copies and as of 2009 tekken 5 had sold 6 million copies..

I dun like it though. I was never a fan of Grundy. Plus he is a golden age villain that belongs to Alan Scott. I would much rather they use villains that belongs to the rogue gallery of the league or the league members.

I love UMvC3 and having a good DC fighting game (unlike MKvDC) is great. day 1

@Deranged Midget: UMvC3 came out 9-10 months after the orignal not 2-3. Other then missing a spiderman villain the marvel roster was pretty great, one of my favorite games last year (ultimate that is) the orignal was pretty barebones

• Captain Cold (I assume he's the one trying to freeze Flash in the beginning of the trailer)
• Cyborg (1:02. It looks like him to me)

Idk, remember MKvsDC. Got everyone hyped. Then what happened? 15 minutes later, you realized everyone basically fought the same. Flash was a super cheap character. Computer would ALWAYS flip you over RIGHT before you crashed into the ground. And the Fatalities, made Friendtalities look like the Chainsaw Massacre. We'll see though.

I approved of their previous looks because they are iconic, but it was time for a change and an update and I don't mind the new costumes.

WW definitely looks better without pants, ifyouknowwhatimean, but the briefs are so cheesy to me. No one really knows what a 19th century circus strongman is anymore and I still think the new looks are iconic in a recognizable sense.

Actually, MK9 was among the best fighting mechanics wise. Even Justin Wong admitted this and said MK9 was way better then MVC3 gameplay wise, and I've played both. MVC is such a button masher, MK 9 isn't...I'm also a high level MK guy myself so believe me. Reviews are all opinion but having good ones don't hurt your cause, and sales are actually important but not everything because if you sell bad, then you can't make more games of that series....this is basic knowledge and fact.

UMVC3 is garbage compared to MK9, that's why MK9 won fighter of the year and it's main competitor was GG, not Marvel so yeah lol..

Sure, it's all good to be technical and challenging, but at the at the same time you don't want people picking it up and being like "omg this game takes forever to master" either, in this respect games like MK and SF are easier to pick up now days then say a Tekken or VF. I'm also not saying sales make a game better, but it shows people enjoyed it. If a game sells well, that's always good for the developers and thus they have more money to make more games and money to improve them as well.

Also, your numbers to date are off with all due respect. MK9 has not roughly around 4 million+ and if you count Vita sales that's even more, also MK DC up until last year, that's not this year and it already exceeded 2 million.

I agree, totally. Even pro gamer Justin Wong and several others who've played both games said MK9 is superior for various reasons. I always thought MVC series was a tad overrated, I mean they had glitches, issues, infinites etc yet nobody talks about those. MK9 had little to no problems and was updated accordingly. I agree, give me games and styles like this over anime looking crap. I mean how cool would it be to see a DC vs. Marvel game with this style of graphics and a solid engine? Epic.

Not to say Arkham City isn't great, it is, it's just that they should be spending more time giving their other characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Flash the video game treatment rather than their premier cash cow.

I love mortal kombat 9 and this looks pretty cool but Moratl Kombat vs DC universe was a bit of a let down for me. I'll hold out on the pre-order for right now.

Yeah, Justin Wong said its better, thats why he still plays MK9... Oh wait, he still plays MvC3. Who still plays or cares about MK9 at the tourney level?

i totally nerded out when i saw the trailer. ive been desperate for a new DC fighting game. this news made my year! Grundy looks great. i hope Blue Beetle is on the roster of fighters. his powers seem like they would be super fun in a fighting game. let the scarab go crazy.

i hope they dont go into too much detail as to why Batman can take a punch from Superman. it's not necessary. we didnt need an explanation as to why Ryu could get punched by the Hulk and keep on fighting. it's just a damn video game.

Sales, I never said reflect quality, I said they help the developer make money and it shows everyone that if people are willing to buy one game, then they'll make a sequel. If a game sells like crap, that's not happening. And who said anything about game amount in a series? They all have a ton of games, but obviously if you're still going strong despite what game you are from 10-15 years ago, you're still popular.

@Cloud, just to go vgcharts, it's accurate and the best site for good numbers. MK9 surpassed 2 million around 4 million around there currently, MKDC sold just over 2 million. Keep in mind I'm not even counting Vita sales. Besides, this game coming out Unjustice will be coming out for all 3 consoles so if it doesn't sell I'll be surprised.

But anywho, I never said Tekken is the most difficult, just more technical and thus more difficult then SF or MK which can please both casual and hardcore gamers now.

@Vaeternus: the only data i could find for MK 9 in vgchartz was for the ps3 and 360 ports...which is around 2.9 m units sold as opposed to tekken 6's 3.48 units sold in the two consoles.. and mk vs dcu has sold 2.9 m units on the ps3 and the xbox 360 whereas tekken 5 has sold 3.84 m units on the ps2( keep in mind that i am not counting dark resurrection) ....do the math

anyway my initial point was that ur assumption that "mk9 and mk vs dcu has sold more than tekken 6 and tekken 5 was wrong"... which still stands true.....

Well, it's on there if you'd like I can provide you the links individually.

MK9 sold way more then 2.9 million, it already surpassed 3 million it's near 4 now. MKDC however sold just over 2 million. MK9 sold more then Tekken 5 and Tekken 6(not saying combined obviously) but individually...MK9 sold more. In less time too.

Also, compared to other genres such as FPS's, fighters don't sell that well.

MK9 I know sold more then Tekken 6, MKDC may have not but still sold well, and they're all on platinum xbox hits. But keep in mind, on this region MK is way more popular then Tekken, in Japan they don't even play any american games. If you've played one Tekken game you've played them all, even my friends who play Tekken professionally say Tekken 6 was stale and made too much for casual gamers, not the classic Tekken fans.

I wonder how/if they will expand the lineup
