Vincent D'Onofrio Cast as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil Series

The Kingpin will be fighting for control of Hell's Kitchen in the 2015 Netflix series

Marvel announced today that Vincent D'Onofrio has been cast to play Wilson Fisk, also known as The Kingpin, in Netflix's Daredevil series. The 13-part series will debut on the streaming service, Netflix, sometime in 2015. D'Onofrio, known for his roles in the films Full Metal Jacket and Men in Black, will appear alongside Charlie Cox, who is playing Matt Murdock.

“We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining 'Marvel’s Daredevil' in such an integral role,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero."

The 13-part Daredevil series is set to come out in 2015 on Netflix.

More news about this and the many other upcoming Netflix series from Marvel as it develops.

I love this casting, hopefully he keeps his hair, bald isn't that good a look for him.

Now watch him in one of Homicide's finest episodes.

He is as close to the Kingpin as I think I've seen in a real person. It's all about the acting and characterisation, though.

Odd. I was actually watching Men in Black yesterday.

Since the pic above looks like a mugshot, I'll say he at least looks like a criminal.

Great casting choice! I'm starting to get excited for this series.

AWESOME!!!!!

He hasn't been in any really big roles but every one he has been in he absolutely kills it. I think he can pull this off. Letting myself get a little more excited for this series....

Oh my god dude! I freaking love the show "Homicide"! It pretty much set up and created the modern cop show style! In my opinion the best cop show, and easily the most underrated. It was also pretty much one of the first (if not the first) police show drama's that featured a murder crime that didn't ever get solved or a feeling of closure for the crime. They had a few episodes like that, and was the first police drama show to have a large sense in moral ambiguity instead of the complete clear cut good and evil archetype.

And of course tons of the the writers from "Homicide" worked on "The Wire". Not to mention the series creator of "The Wire", David Simon, wrote the largest amount of episodes for "Homicide" than any other writer of that series.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned his long running role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Why do I even bother...

Are they using a mug shot or something.. he looks haggard as hell. Excellent casting for Kingpin.

Posted by ShadowSwordmaster

That is the perfect choice or at least a pretty good choice.

@kilowog52: I was thinking that. I loved his whack job detective on Criminal Intent.

Samething I thought lol. But really good casting none theless

Its funny because I have never been the biggest DD fan. However, everything D'Onofrio has done is gold so this actually made me excited for the series. Good casting can go a long way to peak my interest in a show.

@jeremy1989: yeah comicvine, can't we do better for the man than prowling thesmokinggun database?

Sure hope he can bulk for the role because kingpin is not only an intellectual threat to daredevil, he is a physical threat as well

Really not into Charlie Cox as DD. Like, at all. Decent enough actor. Just doesn't fit the profile for me. Will have to wait and see.

Never would have thought of him for the role, but I can dig it.

Inspired casting.
