If you are one of the many ' Spidey' fans eagerly anticipating the franchises' fourth installment, then you may be in store for some good news! According to a report by ' Variety,' Gary Ross, the current screenwriter of 'Spiderman 4' has also taken on the task of writing the script for the upcoming ' Venom' movie adaptation. Apparently, as soon as Ross completes work on the 'Spider-Man' film, then he will be taking on the reigns of the spin-off. Rumor has it that the role of 'Venom' which was portrayed by Topher Grace may be recast. If they do in fact replace Grace, who according to many 'Spidey' fans never fit the role to begin with; who would they get to play the role of the infamous ' Eddie Brock'?

Perhaps it was the Disney-Marvel deal that pushed Columbia Pictures to take advantage of the rights to the 'Venom' character?

Gary Ross has acted as producer on several films that range from the animated to action adventure variety (Big, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and it will be interesting to see him tackle the two popular comic book characters. What do you think? Are you looking forward to a 'Venom' film?
