Twitter Question of the Week RESULTS: Which under-utilized character deserves their own on-going series?

We wanted to know who you would like to see with their own on-going book.

Welcome back to another extremely exciting edition of Twitter Question of the Week! Every Monday, we ask our followers on Twitter a question about comic books and take their answers and place them neatly into this fine piece of art. This week, we asked, "Which under-utilized character deserves their own on-going series and why?" Here are some of your many answers!

If you really want to appear in this weekly article, make sure to answer why. Anyone can just say something, but you have to be able to explain your passion.

Do you have a response but don't have a Twitter account? Let us know who you think looks like a dumb-dumb in the comment section below.

Why am I the only person who wants

Orion

and

Shazam

To have their own series? The JL storyline was solid. And orion is an essential character in DC, but always overlooked by fans... big fan of big O. Orion and the new gods should have a great writer and their own series gaddamid! >:-(

I feel like Wolverine is definitely under utilized. Batman as well. Not getting nearly the attention they deserve.

Of characters that previously held their own solid book, definitely Booster Gold. Booster is a book that can carry a solo story independent of the mainstream DCUO, because of the time hopping, and can constantly cameo other characters without having to worry about continuity, because of the anomalies. Basically, it's the solid story of Booster, but it doubles as essentially a "What If" or "Elseworlds" setting where we regularly explore alternative worlds based on minor temporal changes.

But if I were to pick a single under-utilized character and give them an ongoing that did not necessarily have to be their own self-titled series, I would focus in on Lex Luthor and run an ongoing of a LexCorp corporate superhero team created and managed by Luthor. I would be the DC equivalent to Thunderbolts (back before the Marvel Now reboot decided that they would scrap the concept in favor of an all-hero team). It could accomplished what Justice League of America was originally billed as before that became just another generic League book, creating a team of mixed-motive characters all being employed, used, or manipulated by a "bad guy" but publicly doing something good, concerning themselves with marketability and overshadowing over heroes. The team could even carry a moderate body count, akin to Suicide Squad, with Luthor killing off members as they rock the boat (like he did with Infinity Inc in 52).

I wish both of these ideas were real so I could read the crap out of them.

Doctor Strange is the one who should already have an on-going.

Iceman and Hank Pym are close behind.

Rounded up the ones I really like.

Also, if Johns is only allowed two books a month, he should quit JL and start writing a Shazam book (with help from Gary Frank perhaps?) I'd read the crap out of that.

Basically, it's the solid story of Booster, but it doubles as essentially a "What If" or "Elseworlds" setting where we regularly explore alternative worlds based on minor temporal changes.

Of characters that haven't really been given their own chance to shine, my first pick Catman. He was rocking awesome by the end of Secret Six, and losing him was my most lamented part of the New 52 change (narrowly edging out Amandorexic Waller). Catman as a solo hero would be significantly more enjoyable than Batwing or Talon, both of which I read for a solid year trying to like before I realized they were just not going to improve.

The team could even carry a moderate body count, akin to Suicide Squad, with Luthor killing off members as they rock the boat (like he did with Infinity Inc in 52).

And double points if Jimmy Olsen infiltrates the team as a reporter and ends up repowered and as a regular cast member doing the Turtle Boy, Morbidly Obsese Lad, etc. gimmicks from the Golden Age.

Lois Lane, without a doubt.

She could go up against the likes of Lex Luthor, Talia al Ghul, Dr. Sivana in political thriller type stories. She'd utilize the most under-used supporting cast ever from Superman by getting Jimmy Olsen, Steve Lombard, Ron Troupe, Perry White, and all of those folks into more stories. It'd be an awesome book.

Carol Ferris aka Star Sapphire. I'm liking the New guardians series and Kyle is my favorite green lantern but I do think there's more to Star Sapphire than just as a 'sidekick' to green lantern. She's too sticky to Hal, like she talks about him quite a bit. I'd like a series when before she met Hal.
