Top Selling Comics & Publisher Market Share: February 2014

@v_scarlotte_rose: very true but anything they sell that is not a comic book or collection should not be put in the ranking for top marketshare, a publisher should distribute comics to be included.

@pikahyper: They make quite a lot of other stuff apart from the chess collections. I think they currently make Doctor Who figurines, Batmobiles, Star Trek ships, etc.

Also glad FF #1 did well. Now, it is a #1 so no surprise, but it was a really cool comic. I hope everyone that bought the first issue, buys the second. I know I will.

No, instead of ret-conning Marvel just starts out with new #1's and creative teams every 10 issues. So both companies have their failings. And for as much BS as people give Batman fans, the Wolverine / Deadpool fans are just as bad. I would venture to guess that out of the 69 comics that Marvel put out Wolverine was probably in almost 20 of them. I wish both companies would take more chances on ongoings for interesting characters. But hey, they gave Magneto a series that will be cancelled in twelve issues so I am happy for the next year.

Marvel rules again. DC need to up their game. Aside from the ever popular Batman they are falling way off the pace....the new Green Lantern series post Geoff Johns has not caught the imagination, WW is critically acclaimed but polarising WW fans and a commercial failure. The promising Superman Unchained has been hit by delays and many people like me have given up on it. DCs other characters just aren't well known enough in the wider world to attract new readers. Marvel have a strong line up with interesting new characters and they don't keep ret-conning their universe to further aleniate existing readers!!!

I still need to read Saga!! And this keeps reminding me!!

@sagejonathan-They probably make most of their sales through digital, similar to most other "indie" publishers, since most LCS don't stock much non DC/Marvel titles..

How in the hell is Eaglemoss in the Top 10 !!! They make chess pieces that look like comic characters !!! No way are their three or four $32 "magazines" a month pulling in more then Valiant and Zenescope, I've never even heard of any LCS ordering them.

I'll buy one of those tickets.

no. no they weren't. the explosion in sales is solely based on the success of the show. all you have to do is look at the previous sales charts.

I believe marvel gets more money. Thats why the majority of their comics are 3.99 and the majority of dc is 2.99.

Just give me my Supergirl, Superman and Catwoman and I'm a happy camper.

I know I've already said this, but I just love how SSM gets so much hate, yet once again, both of last month's issues are in the top ten. Looks like the haters got owned.

I'm happy that F4 #1 cracked the top 10. I didn't think that it it would come close even though it was a number one issue. Glad to see the first family get some love from the masses.

Marvel's win this month doesn't really surprise me, with the renumberings. I really hate that marketing technique, but it sure does work.

Not many surprises on this list. DC takes the top comic but Marvel has a higher market share. That's to be expected with the new wave of Marvel NOW books though.

The lack of The Walking Dead in the top trades surprised me a little though. But in a good way. Image didn't actually take that many of the top trades this month which is cool.

Also congrats to Booch and Francis for being the only DC team to break into the top-ten trades this month.

@k4tzm4n They're pretty much what any comic fan would expect. Nothing too eye opening i.e. Batman's at the top, you gotta a couple of #1s, Marvel has more market share etc.
