Top Cow's 'Alibi' Gets A Screenwriter

The film's progress seems to be moving along...

 

It's been quiet on the Top Cow movie front recently, but it was only a matter of time until we heard something regarding the film 'Alibi,' which we reported back in August as having been picked up by Mandeville Pictures. The film will have Todd Lieberman producing along with Top Cow's CEO and founder Marc Silvestri, as well as COO Matt Hawkins.

Comicbook, published last year, centers on a well-known socialite whose public presence establishes a perfect alibi for the covert activity of his secret twin brother, a government assassin. Mandeville snapped up rights to the project shortly after Comic-Con (Daily Variety, Aug. 4).

The story does sound interesting, don't you think? The adaptation finally found it's screenwriter in John Hlavin, according to Variety, who's recent works include 'Underworld,' as well as 'Gunslinger' for Warner Brothers. It seems that pre production for the film is well underway and that perhaps the slow pace is an indication that the film is slowly but surely being tweaked well.
