People have been dubious about the viability of a THOR movie becoming a blockbuster, but I think we’re seeing a little proof here that this thing is going to be a hit. Forgetting the actual execution for a moment - - there’s some palpable buzz on this. The movie’s a year off from hitting theaters, the only official release is that promo pic of Chris Hemsworth, yet Marvel’s had to send cease and desist orders left and right to sites breaking spoilers over the god of thunder’s cinematic debut. People are interested enough in spoilers for a movie that’s more than 365 days away… that’s a sign of something good.
With all that preamble, I urge anybody who’s only interested in the kind of spoilers you find on the back hood of a car to venture no further. Seriously, if you want to be surprised when you see IRON MAN 2 and THOR, stay thy hand and don’t click the button below…
It’s clear that telling you not to look at spoilers is like putting a “DO NOT SCRATCH” sticker on anything…
The first spoiler making the rounds is that Thor’s hammer will show up after IRON MAN 2’s credits. SHIELD agents find it in the middle of a crater in the desert, as if it just fell from the sky. The leaked video was up on Youtube for a while, before it was taken down, but Bleeding Cool has a screenshot of it.
The third spoiler was brought to our attention by Hamz. Spoiler TV has a synopsis of the first scene in THOR - - basically an expository sequence filling in all the details of the Norse mythological universe. Imagine it playing like the opening of LORD OF THE RINGS. Nothing too surprising, but an interesting look if you want to imagine what the movie could be like.
