A lot of good titles this week but I'm looking forward to Wonder Woman the most.

If you want to get Avengers Arena, that's your prerogative, but for those of you who care about these characters please speak with your money on this. It may not be much, it may not do anything, but it's worth the try to defend these characters we've grown to love from being needlessly killed off (even if it might be a simulation) to ride the coattails of The Hunger Games recent success.

Yeah, the DC Comics website has it wrong. They don't even list when Flash 15 is coming out. DC only releases preview pages the week a book comes out. So yeah, JL 15 comes out this week. Aquaman 15 comes out the 26th. This is going to be a fast crossover! I'm happy about that!

There happens to be a ton of great Marvel books and less 'essential' ones from others. Of course you wouldn't know this list was actually made BEFORE we received the early comics. But you just want to assume it has something to do with favoritism.

Yes, I did make an assumption. An assumption after looking at previous "This Week's Essential Comics." I'm not picking a publisher's side. I enjoy work from every publisher. I am merely pointing out that you posted your reviews before you posted this list and many of the reviewed books are on this list. WWBMD (What Would Batman Do?) I'm only connecting the dots.

I too have noticed an interesting trend of mostly highlighting Marvel books and many of them being the early reviewed ones.

@GrandHarrier: As I mentioned above, the list is made before we get any early releases. The idea of this list since we cut it down from ten is to choose ones we're pretty darn sure are going to be worth your money, in our humble opinions. A lot is based on previous issues, creators and themes. There has been a couple times when a comic has been removed after we (luckily) had the chance to read it early. For example, there was a certain Marvel NOW title that we were looking forward to but the comic ended up being just "okay" and not an essential pick. If we do get a chance to read them early, we have more certainty that the book is going to rock.

Can't afford everything this week...just picking up Cap #2, Daredevil #21, and Green Lantern #15.

It's scary how close your list is to mine. Take away Wolverine & Sword of Sorcery, and replace them with Venom & Thunderbolts and it's right on. lol
