Another Wednesday, another massive pile of comics to choose from. There's an impressive amount of new issues coming out this week and we understand not everyone has Bruce Wayne's bank account. We're here to help you narrow down the choices. We love these titles and believe you might as well if you give 'em an honest chance. Because there's so many new comics this week, we also have quite a hefty list of honorable mentions for ya.
In case you missed it, here's the full list of this week's new issues.
GREEN LANTERN #17
Geoff Johns may be departing the series down the road, but in the meantime, he aims to please us with 'Wrath of the First Lantern.' Kicking off with this issue (as well as over in NEW GUARDIANS and CORPS), this tale will reveal the threat that forced the Guardians to join forces. Also, the solicit says Baz will go head-to-head with Black Hand and, most important of all, we'll see what happens with Hal Jordan and Sinestro.
There's no preview for this issue, but enjoy the first four pages of NEW GUARDIANS.
Also, parts 2 and 3 are also out this week in GREEN LANTERN CORPS and GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS.
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1
This is one helluva week for Geoff Johns. Not only is he kicking off a brand new GL story, but he's also preparing us for 'Trinity War' with this new series, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA. How can you honestly resist a book that claims it'll show why Martian Manhunter is "the most dangerous of them all?" To top it off, David Finch is illustrating.
Many have been asking, what the heck is up with this roster. Hopefully we'll get some answers in the first issue.
Sorry, duders, there's no preview for this one.
NOVA #1
Nova's back! Sort of.
Written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Ed McGuinness, this series will dive into the story behind an all-new Nova. Following Sam Alexander, this small town kid will get the chance to shoot for the stars and potentially become one of the most powerful heroes from Earth.
Feast your eyes on the preview below.
THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #5
Jason Aaron has blown me away with this one. This fifth issue will see the finale of the opening story arc. Translation: expect more awesomeness involving the God Butcher and some absolutely stunning art by Esad Ribic.
Visit CBR for the rest of the preview.
X-O MANOWAR #10
I've said it before and I'll say it again: X-O MANOWAR is easily one of the best books out there. Written by Robert Venditti and illustrated by Trevor Hairsine, this latest issue continues the violent and epic path towards 'Planet Death.' This is a must read if you like sci-fi or things that are simply amazing... and you do like amazing things, don't you?
Check out the lengthy preview.
