BATMAN INCORPORATED #7
Batman's defeated and falling to his demise. Batman Inc is in ruins and has suffered casualties. Damian now needs to step up to the plate and face Heretic... and if he loses, Gotham dies. There isn't a preview, but I imagine that's because it would spoil how Batman totally doesn't die.
BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT #16Â
Don't groan yet, there's a reason we have another Batman title in here! You see, this issue welcomes artist Ethan Van Sciver to the title (although I think David Finch rocks with street level titles). Additionally, this will be the first big Mad Hatter story in The New 52. According to the solicit, this will be "unlike any Mad Hatter case" we've seen before.   Check out Newsarama for the rest of the preview.Â

HAWKEYE #7Â
Hawkbro's regular adventure is being cast aside for a month to focus on the devastating effects of Hurricane  Sandy.  I imagine Matt Fraction's script will once again be filled with laughs and lighthearted fun, but also help many realize just how bad the storm really was. Also, Steve Lieber and Jesse Hamm will step in to provide pencils.   Get a first look below.

Gman is fan fav so its obvious hes going help promote it. hes done way before issue one came out of superior spider man
@Cavemold: That may be so, but his name's not the one on this list (though it is on Deapool Killustrated, which was hated by pretty much every other person I've talked to about it but got a good review from G-Man). And to clarify, I'm in no way slamming the staff -- they have a hard job and they provide something wonderful here. Just saying over the last couple weeks I've been adding the salt to my reading, grain by grain.
I'm getting Superior Spider-man, Aquaman, Green Lantern Corp annual, Batman The Dark Knight and Superman. I'm really tempted not to get Superman though. I'm not into the He'l on Earth crossover. I really like some parts, but there are others that are unreadable. I'm looking at you Tom Defalco.

i liked killustrated and to be fair them it is hot book sales wise and the convo on that book go on forever by the fans mostly.
@Cavemold: Oh, that's fine. I guess I just don't think a list of books that are "worth your money" should care whether a book is popular or not. Best/essential lists should, ideally, drive people to pick up books they otherwise might not have. What's the use in telling people they'll buy a book they were already planning to buy?
I don't mind if CV functions more as an industry mouthpiece than an objective news/review site (they certainly wouldn't be unique in that respect); I just am not sure which they are going for/believe themselves to be. Balancing fandom and criticism is a very difficult act, and it's just a matter of principle that a lot of people fail at striking it.

i seee what you mean and they do show indie books here. to be fair this is the last week of comic boom month . so slim pickings??? also its their opnion on what they think you should buy. the beauty of this all we can dicuss thier picks

I guess given the overt nature of the controversy over Ock/MJ, I'm disappointed that the book is openly embraced here without a hint of the great potential (or is it simply confirmed fact) of something most people would consider horrible not only occurring, but being the focus of the cover.

Dan slott is terffic car salesmen and part of selling books is creating a moraless plot line. cheap trick and why i dont buy his book. its one of those things that has to be promoted... it increaeses hype and chatter. plus both dan and ryan have been on the podcasts.

From Marvel: Avengers, Dark Avengers, Journey into Mystery, Punisher: War Zone. I haven't been reading Punisher: Nightmare sounds interesting. Idk about X-Treme X-Men looks interesting as well.
Sad part is that I listed at least 17 comics I'm intersted in but I can't buy all the issues. & it sucks that some of these series are ending or being cancelled. Poor I, Vampire and X-Treme X-Men.
Is it me or does the Batman on the cover on Batman and Robin Annual look like Damain's possible future Batman outfit?
How are the honorable mentions, honorable mentions and not essential comics?
Aquaman ties into the Throne of Atlantis story arc, Batman and Robin annual is going to have death of the family stuff, and Punisher War Zone has been fantastic so far. Not to mention Before Watchmen.
For me it's Flash, Aquaman, Batman and Robin Annual, Before Watchman Dollar Bill and Ozzymandias, Batman TDK, Green Lantern Corps Annual, Injustice Gods Among Us and Superman
All New X-Men #4 - 2nd Printing (I missed out on this when it first came out)

That's it for me this week. I also might cave and get Green Lantern Corps Annual #1 just to see the conclusion to the lackluster Rise of the Third Army (I've only been reading Green Lantern and New Guardians so far.)

Of this list: War Zone #4 (maybe). I didn't find a copy of #3 because I didn't know what day it came out (thank you, Marvel).
At this point is better to wait for the trade. Even when Vol 3 of the fist series is coming out in 2 months, si I'm pretty sure I'll have to wait 4 or 5 months to read the whole story.
