Actually - not sure how I feel about this - I'm sure it won't be as silly - but hopefully it doesn't drag out for a whole year or more.

For some reason I have this thought that the child will have red hair just like Jason's mom. (And Jason's hair color, pre-crisis)

The first person that popped into my head? Carrie Kelly. What do you guys think? Will DC try to bring a character from the classic Dark Knight series into the mainstream DCU?

Funny buttah I hope its a New AWEsome villain even if the story ends up being generic, and ahhhh you never know it might turn out to be a Darth Vader thing where Joker raises Jason's sibling, and both are never aware of their bloodline until one kills the other. Joker Spoils the moment.

Maybe his brother's just a regular guy who wants nothing to do with super heroes or super villains and all their nonsense.

I guess he'd immediately get pulled in, naturally.

@G-Man: Okay stay with me here.....During the original, "Death in the Family arc" the identity of Jason's mother was a mystery (for awhile). Nothing new there I know, but it came down to three suspects, one of which was Lady Shiva. It was famously illustrated that while under the sedation of Sodium Pentothal she lied about having any children (originally she did not but it was retcon in Batgirl that she did have a child, Cass Cain) And although Shiva turned out not to be his mother I always thought it would have been a cool idea if Jason and Cass were siblings. So, what if in the New 52 Jason Todd's sister turns out to be Cassandra Todd......huh huh? Let that marinate for a minute lol

Did he? I know he's never shown outright aggression toward the character, but he stated that if he could've made one big change to the DCU it would be that he would've kept Jason Dead in the New 52.

Maybe they could be trying to develop a primary villain or rival for Jason Todd. I can't help but think of Red X though.

@Gambler: Dude, I want Cassie back almost as badly as you do. But not like this. I'm crazily still optimistic that she'll be back somehow. We'll have to see how Shiva's appearances in the next couple NIGHTWINGs go. I was afraid she was going to get de-aged a little along with most everyone in the new DCU but since she was in NIGHTWING #0, there's still hope that Cassie's out there somewhere. Morrison was supposed to use her in INC but there's been no sign so far. Hopefully before his run ends. I say this sibling for Jason will be someone else.

So the renegade outsider of the Bat-clan wil have a renegade outsider brother of his own? I'm guessing like an anti-anti-hero?

No no I agree, I'm not saying I want her back like this. Just dropping a theory based on an old school DC idea that almost happened.

I don't see how it could be Harper Row. Jason is already a teenager here, and based on Dick Grayson's age of 21 in the New 52, Jason has to be 19 or 20 roughly. If this is correct, then this scene would take place 5 to 7 years before The New 52. Harper Row is about 17 or 18, right? That, and she has a brther. Can't be her.

Why are people saying Jason's sister might be Harper Row? And come on people this is the New 52. DC are turning over a new leaf. Meaning characters like Stephanie and Cassandra won't turn up for a while. It's been one year for Pete's sake give it time!

How would two white people produce a child who's half asian? And I think DC's made it so that creators can't use Steph for whatever reason, which is why she wasn't in Smallville season 11 even though she was in promotional art for it.

i had the same reaction when i saw it in the book, but later he said that after his father went in prison she 'died' from drug overdose so i thought the baby died with her. Anyways Jason never mentions that his mother was pregnant nor there was any reference up to now about a sibling.

If he has indeed a sibling my bet is that he/she is an underling of Joker.

I thought the Joker stuff was pretty crazy. That's a huge shift. As for the sibling thing, man, I dunno. The mom could just be fat. Never, ever assume a woman is pregnant unless you see a baby emerging right at that moment.

If the Joker faked Mrs. Todd's death and hid her away, is it possible that that "baby" becomes some new version of Joker's Daughter

@whitelantern64: Or Harper could be adopted meaning her brother wouldn't be a blood relation to Jason, or she could be a half sister meaning she could have 2 completely unrelated siblings. My Half Brother has a sister I'm not related to.

Wouldnt Jasons sibling be like 2 years old in the present (cant remember how far back this scene was)

I have to point out the flaws in all these theories.

#1 - It cannot be Harper Row no matter how you try to explain her age because she has a younger brother and it wouldn't make sense to have another kid.

#2 - The child cannot be a Talon or the Talon because he was never in Haly's Circus and Dick was their last candidate but was taken in by Bruce Wayne and Raymond then replaced him only to be rejected and became Saiko.

#3 - It couldn't have been a miscarriage because it would have been part of the story making it sound like his life was even worse.

#4 - It couldn't be Stephanie Brown because that would take away the major reason for her being Spoiler and that being Cluemaster's daughter.

#5 - It couldn't be baby weight. Jason was around 13 years old at that point. Who has baby weight for 13 years?

#6 - It can't be Chris from Batman #0. Chris had to be the same age or older than Jason. Being around 13 years younger wouldn't make any sense.

#7 - Duela Dent? Let's just sweep that one under the rug and not bring it up ever again. lol

#8 - By the way, the redhead at Jason's funeral, I figured it was wither Barbara or his mom didn't die when he did.

My theories include:

#1 - Maybe Cassandra Cain was adopted by David Cain and raised to be a great assassin. Especially since Lady Shiva and Nightwing are closer in age now.

#2 - Joker might have taken the kid and kept him or her for himself only to be revealed in Death of the Family.

That seems pretty likely! With an issue recently focused on Harper, that would not surprise me!

I would think that if she was pregnant, it would have come up at some point before she overdosed. Like how could Jason forget about a sibling?? I think this is a something the artist drew in and it slipped past the editorial board. I didn't catch it until this post.

Was her brother (whose name I can't remember) adopted too? Was there anything in Batman 12 contradicting the thought they might be twins?

This is DC we're talking about here, if there's a perfect opportunity for a plot device to be used, and with Scott Snyder being okay with randomly introducing Bat-family members (Thomas Wayne?), they'll probably use it at some point. Maybe they had Harper and brother hidden, and sped up aging?
