The Falcon, Sharon Carter And Lost World War II Adventures To Be In The Captain America Sequel?

That's what the screenwriters say they want, at least.

Will the Falcon finally get to spread his wings and fly?

Even though I did a whole feature speculating on what could happen in the CAPTAIN AMERICA sequel, it actually is a little trickier to guess what's coming next in this one considering how there’s a respectable possibility that 99% of the cast can’t return. Such speculation has a few new bones to play with after co-writers Chris Markus and Stephen McFeely’s brief interview with PopcornBiz.

In short, they really want to bring the Falcon and maybe Sharon Carter into the plot, even though the inclusion of the latter opens a whole can of worms regarding the appropriateness of her relationship to Peggy and Cap. They’re also toying with whether they want the next movie to be set entirely in the present, or partly in the 40's, or maybe even entirely in the 40's for another unseen adventure that occurred somewhere inside the first movie’s three-year timeline. A big facet of Cap’s character is him being a “man out of time” and they’re dying to tackle that since it really only applied to one scene in movie #1.

== TEASER ==

Fans are speculating that the "SHIELD agent" (played by Amanda Righetti) who first greets Cap into modern times might be Sharon Carter, but I’m sure she was left unnamed because the creative people are still figuring out to handle the trickiness of the character. I think they’re going to end up making her unrelated to Peggy because, honestly, that makes Cap’s romance with her a little icky.

I also figure they’ll introduce Falcon for sure, but probably just make him a special SHIELD agent because his bird-man gimmick doesn’t seem like it’d fit into the tone of the Marvel cinematic universe. Finally, I was honestly expecting there to be some extended flashbacks of “lost missions (likely involving Bucky and his transformation into the Winter Soldier,) but I don’t think that making an entire movie out of a “gaiden” would be a great idea - - even if Cap's WWII suit looks cooler than his modern one.

So long as it focuses on Bucky, and isn't set entirely in WWII, I'm good. I think they could tweak the Falcon enough to work in the MCU.

well bucky has got to be in another movie since his death was so... there

I agree 100%, the World War II suit looks far more bad ass than the modern one I've seen in the pictures posted. Falcon would be great, perhaps they could tweak his powers and role a bit without eliminating his flight powers. If that is the case, then the Cosmic Cube would possibly return?

I don't see them using any of the original story setting in World War II, that really would be a bit pointless, unless just for some type of flash back purposes.

It really doesn't matter to me regarding any romance for Cap, I just WANT ACTION!

Amanda Righetti is also listed as Sharon Carter in the Avengers movie. So I think it's more than just fan speculation.

icky relationship! lol

I agree, I can't imagine Falcon looking convincing.

Falcon could be possible.  Considering that they already have Wakanda shown on a Map, we have Stark and his repulsor tech... how hard is it for Falcon to be one of the Agents sent to Wakanda to handle that 'hot spot' for Fury and get the tech to fly.  Then easily bring in more Avengers by introducing Black Panther in the process.  And part of the 'flashback' is an adventure of Cap in Wakanda during the previous Black Panther's reign (thus his son knows his story).

I swear, Amanda Righetti DID play Sharon Carter! That was Agent-13...yes she's unnamed but look at the actress and the looks she has! She's similar to Hayley Atwell so its downright uncanny.

Amanda Righetti/"Unnamed SHIELD Agent"

Hayley Atwell/Peggy Carter

I swear Righetti was Sharon Carter. Had to be. The circumstances just fit for the movie. Other than that...not sure I'm liking these ideas about what will be for the sequel to be honest.  Not what I would have wanted but...maybe that will change.

Cool ^_^

I've never cared about Falcon though..

They dont really look alike at all in my opinion

Awesome.

They clearly set up some Winter Soldier stuff in the movie.  They had Bucky strapped down in a special room all alone when Cap rescued him and he had a fairly vague death by comicbook/ movie standards.

I don't understand how the relationship of Steve and Sharon would be "icky". Steve and Peggy never actually dated they just flirted with each other. Yeah Sharon might look like Peggy and that's a part of their relationship that would be explored in the film (and probably be the set-up for the big sappy talk where Steve finally see's Sharon for who she is rather than the memory of Peggy) but that doesn't make it some unspeakable, shouldn't show to audiences strange.

The second movie should have nothing to do with WWII aside from a flashback or two because you can't do a "lost adventure" story for the second part for one obvious reason.................YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO HIM AT THE END OF THE WAR!!!! If you know what happens at the end it ruins any suspense the film could bring. So it has to be set in the present and therefore will probably occur after the Avengers film.

My thoughts on the film are that following the Avengers movie Cap is now a full time, fully indoctrinated member of S.H.I.E.L.D though is still learning to cope with the present day world. Wilson is introduced as S.H.I.E.L.D's best pilot with the codename of Falcon (he never actually gets a costume though his flight uniform has a red and white pattern) and has become Cap's closest friend and is also his mission pilot. Sharon Carter, i.e. Agent 13, is assigned to Cap as both an intelligence agent and his mission handler and we get the rollercoaster relationship turmoil that her being around brings. The main villain of the movie should be Baron Zemo, who in the wake of the Avengers movie (however that goes), tries to create a new world order by creating and selling supersoldiers to rogue governments. His right hand man is Tony Masters (called Taskmaster by the soldiers his harsh training methods) whose abilities (same photographic memory and copy skills) have allowed him to become a master assassin as well as learn all of Cap's moves allowing him to fight (and initially defeat Cap) equally with him despite not being a supersoldier. So Cap's mission is to stop the plans of Zemo, the supersoldiers he's already created, and Masters.

Its a very similar plot to the first movie but that brings continuity to the character and keeps the spy and secret mission aspect going. Plus its a bit more grounded in reality than a guy flying with a winged costume and talking to birds.

I would love to see Falcon in the Avengers movie. But apparently he's not....yet.

falcon would be cool, and i'm curious how they'll handle him in the "realistic" movie world, should be cool but we'll see

Maybe she'll end up being Sharon Carter, but who do you guys think could play Sam Wilson/the Falcon?

I don't see how the Peggy/Sharon/Cap movie relationship is all that "icky" I mean all he did was kiss her...so what's icky about getting in her granddaughter's panties?

AGREE! Not weird at all. No sex, No real relationship other then a would be first date and a kiss. Wouldn't be weird.  I think falcon could work as a pilot in SHIELD would be great, no need for wings. he could also just like birds as a hobby ha ha

I think Winter solider or Baron Zemo should be the bad guys. that way u can have it take place in modern times, but with flashbacks to WWII. SPOILER:

I like Sam Wilson. I'd prefer to see him pre-Falcon and see the return of Bucky.
Posted by PrinceIMC

I think Falcon should be Cap's personal pilot and badass fighter sidekick guy. And the majority of the movie should be set in the present but have connections to a mission from WWII.

I hate Falcon but they could easily make him work by using something similar to a modified wingsuit. Plus they just could have him be a falconry expert to make Redwing work. Sharon Carter idc about too much either except for when shes in Secret Avengers but the movie should revolve around Baron Zemo sinces he's basically Cap's second archenemy

yeeeeeeaaaah thats alright i can do without seeing falcon...but thanks anyway...

The Falcon?

Remember when Captain America;  First Avengers was supposed to have a neo-invaders-esque lineup?  Was anyone happy w/ that?

Falcon in Captain America 2 would be just like that.  Generic black sidekick superhero is offensive period.

Except Sharon's a blond and the "unnamed" agent we see at the end is a red head. Sure you can say they had her wear a wig, but why, it doesn't make any sense.

But that was all fan speculation, I don't remember Marvel, the director, or any of the writers saying that there would be any version of the Invaders in the movie.

@Nova`Prime`: True...but then again Brubaker-era Peggy's also a blonde and yet Hayley Atwell is brunette.

a mix between ultimate falcon and 616 falcon and baron zemo and sharon for cap 2 (they should have flashbacks to heinrich zemo in a hydra camp)
winter soldier and the return of red skull for cap 3

Dang, you beat me to it.  But who would replace him in Cap 3?
Edited by Loki9876

yeah and i think amanda is sharon on the avengers imdb page she is stated as sharon carter and when cap escapes she says code 13 agent 13 heh heh
and we need some more male shield agents there is agent 13, black widow, maria hill so in that way a mix of ultimate falcon and normal falcon could come in place. falcon as a shield agent I would have him keep most of his original origins but then shield came intersted in him his special mission is to help cap getting used to the new modern world.

Posted by blackair9

Baron Zemo would be my vote with an introduction to the winter soldier. If the use the Falcon, I hope it is more akin to the ultimate version, he a much character the 616 falcon

On IMDB on the Avengers Cast and Crew, Amanda Righwtti is said to be playing Sharon Carter, so I believe you are right.
