It's more than likely Hope in the silouhette. I'm pretty much convinced they're going to kill Cyclops. I hope not though because he's my favorite Marvel character. They've already revealed that they're bringing the five original X-Men back from the past to the current timeline. If that's the case, I'm wondering if there's just going to be two Beasts, two Icemen, etc.

If you change the hairstyle, you could sub in any MU super-lady you wanted to be honest. Besides, the PF is all powerful, maybe Emma becomes mental enough that she imitates Jean to piss off Scott? Yeah, I know, ridiculous, but then ridiculous stuff happens in events!

My bet is it's Hope to be honest, which still doesn't fit in with the promo image as Hope doesn't have curly hair. Gah!! Never thought I'd ever be so concerned about goddam hair!!

Not trying to sound like a perv...buuuut...

Flat chested...not Jean.

My money is on the woman in the corner of this picture by team Wolverine. The sash seems like an obvious hint at the Phoenix. It's not Kitty, Emma, or Jean from the past. It's not Wanda because she is in Uncanny Avengers and is still Scarlet Witch there. The only characters who make sense for me are Hope, Rachael, and Jean herself. Hope seems the obvious choice, Rachael and Jean are more longshots. There's also the possibility of it being someone from left field like Black Widow . Now I know the character in question has shorter hair, but that could be to throw people off the trail and not suspect her. She also could very likely be a Red Herring. This is all conjecture on my part. I honestly hope its either Jean back from the dead or Hope. Also I have not been actively reading AvX. I plan to pick up the trades if the reviews are good, but right now I am not reading it. What I know is from reviews and hearing about it through others. I could be totally off base.

My guess is that this is going to be Hope. Especially since her story has been concentrated on in other issues of AVX

Okay, now why does she have to have big hair? I'm serious. It was different in the early 80's but now we can move into maybe some softer curls...something a bit slicker? I mean, for gods sake, it just looks ridiculous. Can Jean or the Phoenix or whatever, can she have hair that isn't so damn curly? That would be nice.

Are people still reading this? I swear I don't even care anymore. It seemed like there was all this hype and it dissipated, as the series continued to stumble on. Same thing happened with Fear Itself.

Oh, and all the comments concerning the hair - you must have forgotten when Jean went dark or Phoenix-fied, it tended to get curly too...must be all that ambient energy, better than a perm. And look what it did to the five, costume changes and everything, even brought back Colossus's hair...(the eight ball do was horrible).

I'm amazed how many people are suggesting it's Jean, Jean is coming back in the All New X-Men, and marvel says: they're the same ones as in 616, just plucked from time. So Jean is coming back...but I doubt it's her. The body looks young, so I'm guessing Hope will finally emerge as the Phoenix, whether she stays or not, gets killed and perhaps in doing so, restarts the mutant gene, they're all possibilities. One thing that would be very cool, is that Hope has always been Jean, and therefore becomes an anchor to their younger selves. I hope they clarify the connection with the Scarlet Witch, I keep thinking that Hope is really her baby, pulled from another timeline (Could be Scarlet Witches and Nightcrawlers from Days of Future Past). I'm hoping for something unexpected....but as others have stated, Marvel doesn't seem to be too inspired by surprises. I do think however, a Hope/Phoenix, could create some interesting dynamics between herself, Jean and Rachel, (as long as Rachel isn't thrown to the side like she is a lot of times).
