Sharper Comic Vine maniacs will recall the news from a while back that Fox would be rebooting DAREDEVIL as a film series. Said maniacs might’ve even been wondering what was going on with it. Their lingering questions have at last been answered with this news from Deadline that British director David Slade will be helming this new on-screen adventure of the man without fear. Though his latest flick was the last TWILIGHT, Slade’s actually got something of a long association with comics movies. He directed 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and was one of the directors in the running to direct THE WOLVERINE; also, his debut film HARD CANDY is supposedly the movie that got Ellen Page cast as Kitty Pryde.
Me, myself… I liked DAREDEVIL. I think it’s unfairly maligned. I actually would’ve included it in my list of favorite Marvel flicks from a while back but I ran out of room and, frankly, I wasn’t in the mood to get into the kind of heated debate I knew would be ignited by even mentioning the flick. I know a lot of you maniacs have an ax to grind with it and I’m sure many of you talked out your fantasies about what you would’ve done differently to bring hornhead to the screen. == TEASER ==
Well, here's what you've been waiting for. I strongly doubt that anybody aside from Michael Clarke Duncan and Joe Pantoliano would come back for this, so the set’s really open and clear for you all to call some shots from your fantasy producer’s chair. What would you want to see in this one, kiddies? Something focused almost entirely on DD’s history with the Hand? A romp with his more traditional foes like the Owl, Stilt-Man and the Purple Man? Maybe something drawing from more recent storylines like DD going crazy in SHADOWLAND?
