'Supergirl' TV Series to Take Off at CBS

Another network is getting into the superhero TV game.

We heard rumblings about a possible Supergirl TV show recently and now it appears it's getting closer to actually happening. The show will be at CBS (welcome home) and will be handled by Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler. The two have dabbled in the superhero genre with ABC's No Ordinary Family.

We've recently seen Supergirl on the small screen in the CW's Smallville when the characters was portrayed by Laura Vandervoort. Obviously it's too early to think about casting so we'll have to wait for more information. We'll also have to wait to see how exactly the show will work without directly involving Kara's cousin, Superman. There have also been some slight variations in the character since her debut in 1959's ACTION COMICS #252.

A Supergirl TV show also means that all the major networks, CBS, ABC, NBC, the CW, and Fox will have comic book TV shows. There's also the Marvel shows at Netflix, Powers on the PlayStation Network, and possibly Titans on TNT. It's a good time to be a comic book fan.

What are your thoughts on a Supergirl TV show? Which version do you think would work best?
