The X-Men have seemed to move toward a direction that I no longer see befitting to Storm. This seems like a great step forward for her character and a much deserved step forward after the feeling of oppression Storm has been struck with in the X-Men comics lately.

She's not even leading a team....at all. Cap is.

Vision is the only real scrub on the team. most of the other members have been at the super-hero game longer than Storm has.

No, I get it. Because, really, it's not enough to have one X-Man on a million teams.

Whatever happened to being a team member? The uniqueness of teams is gone now. It bothers me. It reminds me of the current tag team situation in professional wrestling. Back in the day, there were teams. TEAMS, you see. Same uniform, teamwork, etc. Now they throw together whoever. That's what Marvel are doing.

I understand G-Man's prior point about how it's best to just have a massive group, ONE roster of The Avengers that can pick and choose which members to use and where, as opposed to all the teams. That's not happening, though, and it certainly shouldn't include X-Men.

Oh, well. Another title to drop.

OMG ur from Memphis??? Me too I was born and raised there. And yes everyone does know someone who has worked at fedex. But it doesn't sound like you fancy the announcement about Storm. I am ecstatic about it!!! :D

For all those lamenting this little change....relax. Ororo will join the Avengers, get the spotlight put on her for one issue and then only one issue, and then since her first name isn't Jessica she'll become wallpaper for the rest of the time Bendis has to keep her an Avenger via editorial mandate.

I'm not happy either but not because I don't think she'd be a good fit. She would. It's because she's yet another strong female character who will get turned into furniture because Bendis wouldn't want a female character around as competition for attention from his babies Spider-Woman and Jessica Jones. See also: Wasp, Mockingbird, Ms. Marvel, other heroines Bendis doesn't praise in his Tweets constantly.

YYYYAAAAHHHH :-)!!! I'm excited about it! I follow the mutants and the inhumans so this will be cool to be able to add the Avengers title to my monthy purchases. I think it's about time Storm got some exposure (this is either 3 or 4 titles for her now), and it could also be great for her to some outside of X-Men and Black Panther. I don't see why her role in comics needs to be limited to either. I liked Bendis's work on Ultimate X-Men and he handled that version of Storm pretty well IMO. I haven't read his work on Avengers recently to know why his work seems to be hated so much but I'll leave that decision to when I read his presentation of Storm. In any case, I am very happy with this for now :-D.

Agreed! I have been wanting her to get a new costume for the longest. She, along with Magneto, Emma, Shadow Cat, Cyclops and Wolverine, along with a few others, are in desperate need of a wardrobe makeover....I do like the picture though.

I like it too but she has had this uniform for YEARS. They have went back and forth with the uniform she had post X-treme X-Men that was featured in uncanny/black panther/ to the one she acquired during WAP, and this is going back like 5 years+. I liked what they did with Dazzler's and Rogue's uniforms, and Astonishing is offering some potentially decent looks for Ororo.

I like it and believe it's the black color of her costume (sometimes it's painted as blue which is better) that doesn't make it look better.

They shooda picked Iceman.. However, Storm is a good choice. Does anyone else notice the fact there is a Vision standing with them? Does this issue occur after Fear Itself or what? & I think if Storm is gonna be on the team it wood make much sense for T'Challa to be on as well.

Firstly stop dressing your opinions as facts, in your view she may deserve a place on the team but its not fact that she does. I have stated why my view is such and others have agreed. Simple facts are that Strom hasnt been a major player of a decent plotline in a longtime. Shes been barely feauturing in a the xtitlles in which she used to be a prominant figure. Simply puting someone in the prime team of the marvel universe becasue she hasnt been used well or written well recently doenst seem like a good idea to me.

Wow! Excited for her. Obviously Marvel has decided that instead of having her in the background because the writers don't know how to use her. Hopefully she will make the book more interesting as well, I still haven't read it since #11 :S

Of course not. Cause appearing on the Avengers and the X-Men along with Black Panther(if that ever happens again) is totally plausible. When happened to the good old days when characters appeared on one team and then maybe one book of their own. We actually saw characters who weren't getting used appearing on teams. There are tons of characters I would love to see on the Avengers who actually belong there, but instead we get Wolverine, Spider-Man, and now Storm. Not to mention Luke Cage and Thing on the other Avengers. It also appears that Dr. Strange and Iron Fist will soon be on two teams as well.

You are right, those characters don't match their teams. BUT, Storm isn't being over-exposed. She hardly gets a line in any of the X-Men books. They only have her as a gimmick of popularity. At least Strom will get to do something in this.

@butterflykyss: Joining the Avengers won't be any different for her character use. Bendis is a terrible writer. If he doesn't completely change her personality completely, he will have her there as just fill for the two characters he chooses to be his "spotlight" characters for this run. It's the way he has done every Avengers books. Heck he might do both like he did with Noh-Varr.

However, that is a good point. He sucks and will probably abuse her... Oh..... :(
