You are right, those characters don't match their teams. BUT, Storm isn't being over-exposed. She hardly gets a line in any of the X-Men books. They only have her as a gimmick of popularity. At least Strom will get to do something in this.

I think it's photoshopped (really well). I like the cape-less look too. I just find the cape to be one of her signatures to her unique uniforms (cape + tiara).

People will insult your intelligence, talk to you in a hostile and demeaning tone, all for asserting and supporting her as a character. Especially with the announcement of her becoming an Avenger. All I have been seeing is "anyone can become an Avenger" and blah, blah, blah. People get so irate by it and I'm just thinking, "its a fictional character people, its not that serious!" But I agree, I am happy and hopeful for a LONG run in the spotlight as well; its long overdue.

Oh well, i just have to think that at least she'll be part of the team. I hope Bendis likes Storm and Wolverine pairing more than Storm and BP. hehehe. : ). Right now, i just want to look forward on how would Bendis write her. Being in x-men and avengers would mean there'r more chances for Storm to grow either in X-men only, or in avengers only or in both. If Storm would suck in both books..... I just don't want to think about it. I will remain optimistic until something bad really happens.

me too. I also didn't like the story about their marriage. It was so rushed that they made it more rushed like Storm and BP haven't met for a while. BP should already be like a stranger. Storm shouldn't have said yes right away and because they're making the story very, very fast and rushed, they have Storm make the first move to make love before the marriage.

and the retcon part when Storm and BP met while they were young, what i really, really didn;t like was what they did in the forest. They were young and writers made them do it in the forest.

But i was done hating the story. when the story was snew, i felt so bad and frustrated cos i really like Wolverine and Storm that there were brief periods that i hated BP. but now, i like BP more, but not to the extent that i like BP and Storm as a couple. I still hope it'll be Storm and Wolverine in the end. hehehe. : )

Right now, i just wanted to see Storm more. I cling on to the good things that happened to the Storm and BP marriage like their adventures with the fantastic four, which was awesome, her appearances in BP comics and cartoon series, etc.

I do not like this. v_v  ....but her fellow X-men won't show her anymore love so what the hell.

She's far from that level of overexposure since she's been playing second, third, fourth, and last fiddle to the x-men and poop panther. I doubt they'll overexpose her.

Its not a fact , you clearly dont understand the principle of the word . Its down to opinion if she deserves it not. As i said in a previous post if we where talking about Storm when she was a regular bigtime player in the xmen universe say 80s-90s i would agree she could warrant the place on the Avengers. Since shes been a bit part player of late her inclusion on the team isnt justified in some peoples views (iam not alone on this matter) and hence it cant fact that she deserves the place.

Yeah, hope not. Not that I've ever been a huge fan of Storm, but it's never good for a character to be too over-exposed. But it's cool to see more mutants on the Avengers I reckon.

As far as whether or not she deserves a place on the team, lazystudent is right, it's entirely a matter of opinion. Storm fanboys (and girls) are most likely going to support the development, others may or may not.

Bendis needs to be a editor, so others can put their own flavor in. I think comic books will die first of Bendis, then a decade later because of on line comics.

I know it seems like an honor right now and a step up for Storm but trust me its not. these Bendis years have arguably been the worst in Avengers history. nearly everything that made them Marvel's premeire super-team is gone. It would be an honor if Storm had joined during a period in history where being an Avenger was something to be proud of and where the writer didnt destroy every character he got his hands on. Bendis claims that Luke Cage and Spider-Woman are among his favorite characters and look what he did to them. you can bet that while Bendis on the book Storm WILL have BP's son (Bendis IS the one who made Next Avengers canon).

What's dishonorable about it? IMO It's actually pretty honorable considering she's taking Thor's open spot.
