One really cool thing about 'Smallville' is the variety of DC characters that so frequently appear on the show. Not only that, but the fact that they are occasionally written by guest writer Geoff Johns is pretty cool in itself. As you may already know, appearances by Justice Society of America characters will be made on the 'Smallville' television series! Brace yourselves, ' Stargirl' and ' Hawkman' fans, because you'll be catching cameo appearances by these two superheroes very soon! According to a report by IGN, both the characters will be appearing on the hit television series in January. Actress Britt Irvin (Aliens In America) will be playing 'Stargirl' and Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1) will be playing the winged hero, 'Hawkman.' Additionally. we will also be seeing Doctor Fate played by actor Brent Stait (Stargate SG-1).
Are you looking forward to seeing these characters appear on 'Smallville'? Maybe now that Johns has made the effort to bring 'Hawkman' to television, we will be seeing ' Shayera' soon? You know, since he killed them both off in ' Blackest Night'! If you could choose any additional characters to appear on the television series, who would you like to see?
I'd like to see Bruce Wayne in the show. I stopped following sometime after season eight and they could have done some awesome episodes with him. He'd have to be played right. Like the Nolan movies character or Jeph Loeb's version. I think that would be awesome.
I was kinda thinking that this would be low-tech as far as special effects, but Dr. Fate, Hawkman and Stargirl. Johns is goin' big. I guess we probably won't see Jay Garrick (or will we since Bart used his alias?). I'm wondering if we will see Alan Scott, Ted Grant, or Wesley Dodds. Should be a cool episode...
As cool as Stargirl is it slightly bothers me because Robin is the first young superhero. I guess in the Smallville Universe Batman shows up much later ( which bothers me). Should have used Jesse Quick.

and where are Hal Jordan and Bruce Wayne? oh, that's right... NOWHERE!!! Too bad...i think Bruce, Hal and Barry deserve a Cameo MORE than any other DC Character... but thats WARNER for ya! =)
Wow this is great news. Hawkman and Dr.Fate are personal favorites of mine. Shame that Alan Scott and Jay Garrick won't be in it though. Though I kind of find Shanks to be a bit small to play Hawkman. Kevin Sorbo was always a personal choice for me to be Hawkman.
I was just thinking today that Captain Marvel would be such a nice idea to bring him on a guest spot on the show. Maybe help boast the movie a little bit faster into production.

There is a bat embargo and a Green lantern Embargo that forbids Smallville and CW to use there characters. Same goes for Wonder Woman since they are already movies about them taking place. I have no idea why DC/WB won't allow them to use it. But it is what it is at this point.. ANything GL, Anything in the batman family, and wonder woman stories are not allowed in Smallville. There allowed to make small mentions of Gotham City but can never actually travel there either. (on camera)

yea i follow it closely and all though i dont expect to ever see him, i think it would bee cool (since they already are talking about a season 10) if he came in they way they first met in Superman: Animated Adventures but with out the full blown all out batman suit. He can have an out fit but i think it should be him from batman begins before he gets taken in by Ra's Al Ghul, just fighting street thugs and taking on gangs.
Even if they dont have him, they could have shipping containers, boxes and maybe even Lucia Fox pass through. Just something they represents him in the show in at least one episode, kinda like they way most boxes you see have Luthorcorp or Star labs on it even though those characters might not be in that episode.
i think they should of had Jay garrick and Allen Scott in the show at least but i understand why, i bet the green figures coming from the ring would look to fake (LIKE THE HORRIBLE INTURPRITATION OF DOOMSDAY) and they have already had a flash character so its understandable to me why they wouldnt have either
