Stanley Tucci Talks About His Role in the Captain America Movie

And I think Emma Stone should be the Black Cat.

Now imagine him in pounds and pounds
Now imagine him in pounds and pounds "old age" make-up...

Equal parts mad scientist and calm, collected researcher. That’s how Stanley Tucci’s describing his portrayal of Dr. Abraham Erskine, the inventor of the Super-Soldier serum.   Currently on a break from his CAPTAIN AMERICA movie commitments, the actor’s been using this time to promote his new movie, the SCARLET-LETTER-with-a-modern-twist comedy EASY A. Expectedly, questions regarding his experience on the CAP set came up while he was promoting the flick to the likes of MTV and Crave, and the guy had nothing but good things to say about Joe Johnston and the whole production.

Actually, before we get to the quotes and video, I’d feel remiss not to mention that Tucci’s EASY A co-star, Emma Stone, would really make a great co-star for Andrew Garfield in the new SPIDER-MAN movie - - which is a bit relevant given how there’s currently a casting race for his love interest. People are going to say, “What? Just because she’s a red head, she should play MJ?” Nah... MJ isn’t even going to be in it. But if they go ahead with Black Cat rumors, don’t you think she’d make a good Felicia Hardy? == TEASER ==

Anyway, back on topic. Here what Tucci had to say about CAP and his role…

"I shot with Chris [Evans], and Dominic Cooper, and Tommy Lee Jones and Hayley Atwell. I love the role. It’s really well written. I’d never done anything like that before. I’ve always wanted to do a German accent. It’s so much fun. It’s really interesting. Very good script, great experience…  When they asked me to play him initially I was like ‘Is that like a compliment or is that an insult? I don’t know? I love the role. It’s really well written."

Tucci’s an amazing actor. Just check him out as Al Capone’s right hand man, Frank Nitti, in ROAD TO PERDITION to see what I mean. I’m glad to see that an actor of his style’s not only acting in a movie like this, but obviously enjoying his part. As I've been saying, I've got a good feeling about the CAP movie.
