Spielberg Completes 'Tintin' Filming!

Producer Peter Jackson discusses the film's progress

Producer Peter Jackson discusses the film's progress

When I first found out that Steven Spielberg would be behind the film adaptation of ' Tintin' I admit I was really excited. You really can't get very much better than Spielberg! There has, however, been very little information released regarding the film's progress, and very few images from the set. In a recent interview with the BBC, 'Lord of the Rings' producer Peter Jackson who is also the producer for 'The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn' announced that the film has finally completed filming, but that it will still be some time until it is completely rendered.

"Tintin is great. It's made. The movie is cut together and now [we] are turning it into a fully-rendered film".
"So the movie, to some degree, exists in a very rough state."

According to the report, ' Tintin' had been filmed in 3-D, and that actor Jamie Bell's performances were "motion captured" which is the reason why rendering will take so long. I personally cannot wait to see this film, and I am really looking forward to it since the 'Tintin' books are my favorite comics, period. Have you read 'Tintin'? Are you looking forward to the film? Do you think it will translate well to a motion picture?

Something to look forward too. These were among some of the first comics I read along with Astrix the Gaul simply because that is what the library had.

I've never read Tintin before. I might see the film when it comes out, I don't know.

read them all as a kid,all from the local library,it was tintin and asterix all the way for me.not sure how the film is going to look on the big screen though, the storylines are there but visually it will have to be much different from the artwork of the boooks i am imagining.

I really like Peter Jackson's work. He's really a director who understands the creation of a story. If you ever want to learn some of the most interesting tidbits about how a movie is made. I have the whole Lord of the Rings Extended Cut box sets. Those all have audio commentary from Peter Jackson and the writers. They really go in depth about translating the classic novels to the movies.

Though you need quite a few hours to take it all in. Peter Jackson says that Return of the King Extended Cut is over four hours long without credits.

I'm French, so I HAD TO read Tintin ! Every child here has to, with Asterix, it's part of every children education ! And here, when we learn about the making of a Tintin saga by American directors, we kind of... well, let's say we didn't really smile ! But then they announce Spielberg and Jackson behind it and everybody agrees : it will rock ! I'm really excited to see the first footages !

Kinda wished I knew more about the character...

I wonder why Tintin couldn't be the real movie instead of CGI.
