Spider-Man Movie Title & Costume Revealed

This is starting to look a little...amazing.

The title to the Spider-Man reboot movie has been revealed. Rather than a simple "Spider-Man" title, it will now be called "The Amazing Spider-Man." Makes perfect sense. Classic, recognizable and will differentiate from the previous movies.

On top of that title, check out the new image.

Nice!! They went with the Alex Ross 90% blue look. Alex Ross Spider-man design was used for the clone when he dropped the scarlet Spider-man costume. But still I like this...time to see if the trailer can hold up too.

It's like when they rebooted the Hulk and named it "the Incredible Hulk" which was a little better than the "Hulk" movie. But I'm pretty positive this reboot will be one of the best. And web-shooters!

Well, if we have to watch the Origins story again then it'll be kinda....bleh. If they sum up the Origin and then begin the story at some point after the origins story...then this is going to be a major hit....I just don't think everyone wants to see the same stories over and over.

New villains would be nice. Rhino would shine.

They might as well call it "The Amazing Scarlet Spider," or "The Sensational Spider-Man," or "Spider-Man in Clone Reilly Outfit." I think the last one might actually have a good ring to it.

But yeah, I don't get the major alteration to the outfit. Sure, Spidey hasn't changed his red-and-blues over the years and it's hard to keep it exactly the same as Raimi's version in a reboot, but who says you have to? Making the eye-mask smaller, with the outlines of the eyes darker anyone? You know, like the old classic look back in the day before Spidey's suit got 'manga-ized,' and beefed up a lot, too. You don't see the Fantastic Four outfits being changed much, and there was an old Fantastic Four movie not too long ago, in the '90s or so, I think? Or The Hulk, which was rebooted twice (though he does only have one piece of clothing).

Liking the webshooters and the use of the prefix, though (and Andrew Garfield is definitely an improvement over Whiny Mcgayire). Those are very true to the comics, so the change in the costume is such a huge letdown, like a certain 'spectacular' animated series I know of. *cough* And I've always kinda like Raimi's organic webshooters. It always kinda bugged me why Spider-Man's natural powers don't come with spider web. Now, I know the reason why Stan made it so, but it just doesn't satisfy me. After the bull Spider-Man stories had gone through (with the clones and the carnage), the organic webbing was actually one of the best ideas, yet.

I'm not a fan of the new suit.  It looks like a cross between House of M and Ben Reilly.  I don't like the shiny, plastic looking web-shooters on the outside of the wrists, all the striping on the costume is angled to the actors crotch and his feet look like he's wearing tap shoes.

It looks awesome! But I still think they should have stuck with organic web shooters.

I never saw what the big deal was about the web shooters. Now the costume has changed-that was the best translated costume ever in the history of comic movies!!! The title is great. Maybe the sequels will be 'Spectacular Spider-Man' and 'Web of Spider-Man.' A little caveat here though: if this movie fails, maybe then Marvel can buy the license back from Sony and then they can incorporate Spidey into the Avengers movie-verse...!

Sorry, that'll never happen. Like Fox with the X-Men movies, Sony will never let go of the Spider-Man cash cow. The merch alone is worth a poor box office return. Besides, it's Spider-Man, I seriously doubt that it won't make its money back. Spider-Man 3 was pretty bad but it made more than enough for Sony to be happy with it. I think they were smart though and listened to the fans, that it didn't go over so well (and saw it made slightly less than previous films) and that's why they decided to go in a new direction.

Ah, shame then. It would be nice to see the MTU aspect of Spidey coming alive in live action for once. Guess the Iron Spider and the Future Foundation costumes will never come to be.
