Spider-Man Meets Spider-Man in Upcoming SPIDER-MEN

@GundamHeavyarms: Yea, I'm gonna second that one. I feel like it's going to turn into a Obi-wan and Skywalker mentoring thing. Rather than just two completely different spiders actually teaming up. I can't wait to hear of his initial reaction to the different spider and figuring out that he died in this world, but still.

@Spydey:The thing is, I want to like Miles, I really do, but Marvel tried to hit us over the head with how great he is, it seems like everybody and their brother thought that he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, that was just a turn off for me.

I can see it now, Peter and Miles sitting on a rooftop having a long conversation about nothing while eating chinese food, or pizza.

Okay I'm no Marvel fan but I thought the company had said they would never do a crossover between the 616 and ultimate universe because if they did it would mean they were out of ideas. I guess they're out of ideas.

A story nobody has ever seen before! Man, we've never seen Spider-Man team up with another Spider-Man...oh wait...there was that 90's cartoon series. Well we've never seen him team up with a Spider-Man that wasn't a Peter Parker...oh wait...there was that team-up with Miguel O'hara. Well, Spider-Man has never teamed up with the Ultimate Universe...oh wait...Shattered Dimensions...

I'll get it. Seems interesting.

i had this on my subscriptions list until i read this news. now i think'll just pick it up at my local retailer when its convenient for me.

I sort of agree with this... Miles hasn't even been fully fleshed out yet. I am very excited/interested for this book but I do think it wasn't the time to do this.

Thou on the other side of the coin, it wouldn't make sense if it wasn't 616 Spider-Man meeting Miles...

Either way... this would be an interesting read.

DC does not have an ultimate line and thats why they had to reset. Characters are becoming dated. As fresh as ultimate peter was....bendis knew eventually he would be writing the same peter from 616. The ultimate line ages differently. I think that is a very cool thing they are doing. Actual growth. Alot of people have come and gone in the ultimate line, and eventually there might be a new iron man over there or captain america. The character dies, but the legacy goes on over there.

As coincidential the whole miles getting his powers may have been I like him as the new spidey, I like that he has problems and a comic geek for a confidant. I think his power set as awesome and refreshing. He is not peter parker. He will not have the same problems that peter parker had.

Give it time before you write it off. Ultimate Spiderman could be the best work on the shelf for a few years to come. There are not alot of books you can confidently say that about....unless scott snyder is writing it.

I would be looking forward to this a lot more if Marvel hadn't said the two worlds would never cross over. It's like the death thing. This characters never going to come back, seriously he's never going to come back, we swear. Oh he's back guess we lied. I just wish companies would stick by their word, but we all know that hasn't happened for a very long time.

Not surprised AT ALL. If they had Spidey 2099 show up again (since he's already met Peter) I might be a little more surprised, but I think everyone pretty much called this.

Honestly thought they would always keep the mainstream (616) separate from the Ultimate...forever.

Agreed, this just seems like a cheap attempt to promote Miles Morales as Spider-man.

@Ultim8Roux: The problem is that Ultimate Peter WAS growing and developing as a character. Right before he died he was finally getting proper training from the Ultimates, and had a new, great relationships with his supporting cast like JJJ, Johnny, and Iceman. And then they killed him. Dont get me wrong, the death of Spider-Man story was actually REALLY great right up until the moment he actually died, heck even that was powerful, but killing him just through SO much potential out the window. Peter eventually joining the Ultimates and learning how harsh the adult world can be, Peter going to college wouldve been awesome too since 616 Peter had been out of college longer than ive been alive. But because of some stupid publicity stunt hes dead, and we probably wont ever see that. If they had killed Peter at a time where his book sucked, and there were no stories left to tell than it wouldnt have been so bad, but they killed him when his book was literally the best Ultimate book on the stands, and when he was growing as a character. Slap in the face

Miles is just straight up boring. I cant take him seriously as a character, and he really doesnt even have a good reason for being Spider-Man. He isnt a legacy character at all, he just some 13 year old KID pretending to be Spider-Man. Miles Morales is barely even a character, hes a publicity stunt Marvel tried out to generate sales. I gave him a fair shot, I read the book up until Fury gave him his new costume and I just couldnt go beyond that. I more than likely wont be touching the Ultimate Spider-Man series unless Peter comes back, though I probably will read Spider-Men since 616 Peter is in it.

Do you want me to be a Miles fan? How about you have him save the city a few times. Have the world fall on his shoulders, like it falls on Peter's every single day. If he handles that like Peter, like Spiderman, then I will start buying that book. Otherwise I will read the REAL SPIDERMAN.

Haven't been following Miles Morales in Ultimate Spider-Man in the least, but this looks super interesting. Love the first teaser image.

@Kallarkz: it really has nothing to do with bendis..its the fact that thyre crossing over the universes. thats something they promised wouldnt happen!

What I'd love to see is this universe-hopping in some way change history so the Ultimate version of Peter never died, so we can get the real Ultimate Spider-Man back. If you want to keep Miles around, fine - the Ultimate universe has found its Scarlet Spider.

I remember one of the writers of the Ultimate Spider-man series saying that there would only be a 616/Ultimate Spider-man crossover if they ran out of good ideas.....Make of this what you will.

Imo this a pointless crossover. They should have either had the Ultimate Parker clone and Miles or 616 Peter and Kaine.

Joe Q talked about the whole "out of ideas" thing on another site...he basically said that it's ridiculous to think that he should be held to something he said 10 years ago and that if he didn't change his mind about things from time to time then he wouldn't be doing his job very well

@ComicMan24: When I was reading Ultimate Marvel I hoped they would never cross the two universes. I wanted to believe that the Ultimate Universe was actually its own Multiverse; therefore completely seperate. I stopped reading Ultimate when New 52 came out, and I kind of wish Marvel had though of a complete reboot idea first... now they would just be copying.

Now the two have crossed I'm glad I jumped ship before I got caught up in a pointless storyline like this.

would people please stop complaining that it's being written by Bendis????? his 616 work may not be the greatest but his work on Ultimate Spider-man has never once dropped in quality...it's always been good....I swear that most of you don't even like comics at all and just read them to constantly complain and try to ruin everyone elses experience
