In my opinion, the show is still massively weak compared to a show like Arrow, at the moment DC are simply trumping MAOS ten fold, no number of cameos can reverse that.

Quality aside, SHIELD's ratings are roughly double Arrow's ratings this season. Such is the nature of network TV...

Sounds like a good move but they do in fact need to add more superheroes to the show... feels a little lacking to me.

ABC is also a much bigger network than CW.

Plus look at the ratings: AoS premeired at 12~ mil and has since dropped to 6~

Arrow premiered at 2.74 and I think the midseason finale was like at 3.2~

And to all people who comparing AoS with Arrow... guys, Arrow is a show about a hero, AoS is a show about Agents. What were your thinking? Superpowered enemies for every single episode?

And I doubt this would make the show better.It would still be one of the most boring TV Shows currently airing.

I actually quite enjoy the show, I'll definitely be watching this episode when it comes out. I always see comments about how Arrow is better, but it's not exactly that great a show in my opinion.

@punyparker: Have you ever actually watched Whedon shows? With the exception of Firefly(Oh glorious Firefly....sigh.), all Whedon shows have had mediocre first seasons. Buffy. Angel. Dollhouse especially. In fact compared to the first seasons of any of those shows Agents is actually pretty good. It's always in the second season where Whedon shows really find their feet and take off running. Assuming all the fan-wangst doesn't kill Agents before it gets that far, it's gonna be awesome given more time.

I've heard all the negatives on this show and only watched the first episode. I will be recording this one.

I really don't get all the hate for this show. It isn't ground breaking by any stretch of the imagination but it's a fun little show that adds to the Marvel Universe, or were people just expecting "This week Iron Man, next week Captain America, ect."?

Screw this. Bring back Journey Into Mystery instead. Sif is awesome in that.

I read the cobie smulders is supposed to be joining the show in future as well could just be a rumor though.

As i was informed Whedon has little to do with it,so i doubt it gets better BECAUSE of him.
And they'll continue to say it's AWESOME and that everybody on the planet watches it,cuz Dysney-Marvel,nowadays is very protective about their work.
Like Ultimate Spider-man......everybody were/are bashing it,and it gets a 3rd season.
So no,it won't be "smothered" by the fans......because they dont care.

And btw,the majority says that the show is the epitomy of mediocricy,and the majority is right......why only me,man?

I feel like Shield is a big letdown and adding sif for continuity purposes won't work.

I can take the Agents of SHIELD criticism but the comparisons to Arrow? Honestly, Arrow is a show with a lead actor who should thank his lucky stars for the distraction that is his good looks in lieu of talent, a barrage of model-turned-actormodels, soap operatic and overwritten dialogue, and it's rife with cliches. It's not as bad or as goofy as Smallville was but it's not good. I'll say this, at least Agents of SHIELD doesn't profess to be anywhere near as serious as Arrow does, it's a much more self-aware show. Could be better but I would say your judgment is questionable if you're trying to push the doltish Arrow on me while making that point.

And, also, sry ABC can't lockdown RDJr or Chris Evans or Scarlett Johansson...they're kinda making the movies you're all amped about now.

I watched the first 9 episodes. Even if Hulu still had the new episodes up, I doubt I'd watch them. & Sif? Not only does this sound like "we forget that this show is supposed to tie in with the movies" but we also need the Hot piece of Asgardian fanservice to boost ratings.

Arrow is hitting everything so far, my only complaint is Laurel being there & ruining Black Canary, I'd rather SHIELD get canceled, & Coulson moved over to the Netflix-Verse of shows.

But ok, trying to compare it with something else, AOS is at least slightly better than the first halfs of Once Upon a time & OUAT in Wonderland. So, its got that, right?

Honestly, I dont want Iron Man in Avengers2. & Hawkeye & BW havent done much of anything at all yet. It has nothing to do with it airing after Avengers came out, the show is not that good. On it own, it would be canceled. As a tie in, there is enough material between SHIELD & Avengers in the decades of comics that they could tell good episodes. 9 episodes of nothing. They are litterally leaching of the success of the films & giving nothing in return. In fact, they've only made me dislike Coulson a bit, because now I think of this trainreck failure of a show.

& its only being compared to Arrow until Netflix starts airing their shows.

AOS is just bad television. Both on its own, AND as part of something bigger.

I watched the first 2 eps and the referances to the Avengers Universe,were mount-high.....it bothered me a tad.But it wasn't the reason i stopped watching.

Im in the second ep of Season 2 ,so i don't know what's Canary's deal (It's Dinah,there right?...or they changed the name too?) ,but Laurel is a dumb b!tch.......im really sorry to say it,but i started feeling that way since the second half of season 1,and the hatred emerged with every episode......i trully despise this woman.

And as you see from my comments,i am a massive Arrow fan,and obviously i agree with you that the show is awesome.....i saw Hawkeye in the Avengers and said "Damn.....THIS guy is getting all the attention,while Ollie -who's a hundred times better- is sitting there sharpenning his arrows.....it's a shame..." and then BOOM....DC made it happen.

She'll be the "Seven of Nine" for SHIELD.

Netflix = You can go out of the kid-friendly-funny-bannana crap,and go Matt Murdock kicking ass kinda style......I would love to see an Arrow version of Daredevil !
