Shooting for 'The Wolverine' Delayed...Again.

Hugh Jackman confirms that shooting on 'The Wolverine' has been delayed until 2012.

Wolverine fans might have to wait longer than they originally anticipated for a sequel to Hugh Jackman's pretty awful (yet highly successful) X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. Hey, at least it's happening. Maybe. Right?

No Caption Provided

Perhaps the announcement that director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) had left the project this past March despite production being ready to begin on 'The Wolverine' was a bad omen for the film. Now it seems Wolverine fans will have to wait even longer for a proper movie about the popular X-Man. According to Hugh Jackman, production on 'The Wolverine' has been pushed to 2012, following the filming of his next project, 'Les Miserables.'

“I think Les Mis is my next movie — in fact, I know that — and then after that we’ll shoot it,” the actor told Leicester Square TV at the U.K. premiere of Real Steel. “We start shooting next year.”

== TEASER ==

Even though this isn't the best news for Logan fans, the good news is that the actor still really digs the character. According to the interview with Leicester Square TV, Wolverine is "eternally fascinating" to Jackman.

"He's eternally fascinating to me...why? He's [a] dark, tortured, interesting, flawed character who somehow [feels the need] to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and I sort of feel like we haven't nailed him [yet] and I really want to get him."

Hey, at least his heart is in the right place, right?

I see. Thank u for ur input. I was just curious to know why Wolverine fans hated the movie so much. It seems these Hollywood folks just want to make money instead of thinking about the die-hard fans.

@yo_yo_fun: Deadpool displeasure aside, there were some scene that were just too campy and in the end the plot was actually a pointless one with a supply of character and actor cameos (as someone stated earlier).

I have my own small gripes that flick at the fanboy side of me, but, as far as the movie is concerned, there are some issues that many have legitimate issues with.

The claws in origins, in some scenes, are are all too obviously CG; in the bathroom scene, while he's examining his claws, you can actually pick up on some pixels. There are also some scenes where his arm is as stiff as a board when the CG claws Snikt or retract; again, making it painfully obvious they're CG.

The Ladder Scene... probably the biggest faux pas in the movie. I try not to let the laws of physics interrupt something that's fictional, but that was just painful to watch. Also, the Gambit side flip to the fire escape was another example of obvious wire work in movies. I'm not even gonna get into the plot problem of why he kept attacking Wolverine while Creed was right there; someone he was supposed to really really hate for locking him up.

Lastly (only because I don't wanna go on forever)... Adamantium bullets. Adamantium is supposed to be the strongest metal, thus far, of the Marvel Movie world... and yet it can still be pierced by something else made of adamantium? It sounds feasible, but try shooting a lead bullet at a lead replica of a skull and you simply get a ricochet (as a side note, stand behind protection before attempting). Now, pretend what I said about adamantium being unable to penetrate itself doesn't matter. Wolverine now has two holes in his skull (forever, since metal doesn't heal) and two bullets are stuck in his head... which make him forget??

Don't get me wrong. I love Wolverine and almost all the characters that help make up his deep history, but this movie was a quick, slap-dash, cut-corners action flick strung together with a very flimsy and at times pointless plot. As an action film, it did an okay job. As a Wolverine film, it is a slap in the face and a kick to the balls to die hard Wolverine fans.

This is just my opinion of course. I can watch the movie and enjoy it for what it really is, but as far as Marvel Dogma goes? It never should have been made.

Real quick: this is not an attack on you or anything... you like the movie and that's fine. The examples above (and I have many many more, sadly) are what hurt it from my point of view.

Interesting. Thank u for ur input. It's okay, I understand. From a fan point-of-view, u would be more critical. Trust me I've been there (Green Lantern & Harry Potter for example). Green Lantern was a good movie but a HORRIBLE comic book adaption (of course, my opinion). I was just curious to know why the Wolverine fans hate it so much. I think Wolverine is a very cool character and I do like him, I just haven't gotten really into him. And from what people are telling me, I shouldn't start w/ the movie.lol

But again, thank u for ur input.

Why so much hatin' on X-Men Origins:Wolverine? It wasn't a such terrible as you guys say. One superherohero movie that sucked was kickass, why don't hate on it instead? It was cinematographic shit.

@BewilderingBeing: Will I Am was John Wraith who was in the original Team X under the codename Kestrel; he was their extraction man who'd teleport them to and from missions. He pulled the look off well, though his acting was stiff in certain scenes.

I always thought it was going to be called "X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2."

I really think they should make it a trilogy and put Daken and X-23 in the third one.

That and it was also called "Wolverine Origins" meaning they were displaying the origin of the character and literally made everything up! Wolverine's history is easily available here and many other places. Since when Was Blob in Weapon X? Who the heck was Will.I.Am playing and why was he in the movie? Wolverine and Sabretooth are brothers??! Seriously?! Lie after Lie Distortion after distortion it just rubbed me all the wrong way. If you make changes they should be BETTER than the original but here had the opposite effect. Many of the characters that were made up were no where near as interesting as the original story.

Let me geuss.. This time Rogue will be Wolverine's love interest, Cyclops is an old man, Storm is a 12 year old and Magneto leads the team. I figured the way they screwed up "Origins" the pattern of getting EVERYTHING completely wrong will continue. Not looking forward to this at all..

Some hated Wolverine Origins because the continuity got a little messed up, the graphics could have been better, but mostly it was because they cast the perfect actor to play Deadpool then didn't let him talk. "The Merc with the Mouth" was not able to speak. That was the worst decision they couls have made. Anyway those were the problem I had with the movie. That said, I still like Jackman's performance.

i liked the movie. it was super odd, especially saying he had a bullet lodged in his brain which made him forget everything, but it was pretty cool. and in the film, james marsden is actually shorter (MUCH) than jackman so many of his scenes were if they were side by side, he stood on something or they kept them far apart to keep the height difference kinda out of the limelight. but seriously, if they want this movie to rock, bring in frank miller. he has said and it has been confirmed that the wolverine will be based around the arc he wrote.

I've always kinda disliked wolverine but that movie was awful. Not even just as a comic movie but it committed the cardinal sin, it was uninteresting. i normally don't go for 'fanboy' stuff but it was like the whole film was written as one big troll against xmen fans (don't like wolverine but LOVE xmen especially Cyclops, chronically under-rated) so many characters were blatantly wrong. not just in a phoenix way ( i know that it is easier to say psychic rather than possessed buy a space god that kinda thing is fine) but even minor characters like beak. i don't care about beak at all but why use him and change everything about him?

And yeah i like Jackman well enough but he's nothing like the character:

5'2" short, squatty, grizzled and middle aged= wolverine

6'3" tall athletic, handsome and young (at least at the time of xmen 1 though he's still not old)= Hugh Jackman

That's one of the things that made him unique. But I guess that idiot B.Singer didn't understand that since he was never a fan.

So true. When the first X-Men came out, I was pissed to see Wolvie Cykes standing side-by-side and with their heights interchanged. I always believed that the guy who played toad/darth maul (forgot his name) would have been better as wolverine.

Why does everyone want to give Ray Park a movie part.

There's a reason most of his roles don't have him speaking...

I have absolutely no hope for this "film", and I say "film" in the lightest sense possible. I sat down and analyzed X-Men: First Class for three days with my cousin. Our conclusion: It is a terribly flawed film that, contrary too popular belief, is poorly written schlock. People went gaga for it because of the sheer terribleness of the two previous installments in the X-Men franchise.

Fox will never live up to Marvel Studios or even Sony's Spider-Man films in terms of quality and substance. They should just give up now and spare us all the inevitable torture.

I'm still a bit disappointed that Darren Aronofsky had to bow out. The only way I'll be even nominally excited about a 'Wolverine' movie is if the writing and directing are 'Dark Knight'-levels of fun. Also, I hope they keep the Mutant Menagerie down to just a small handful of characters. No cameos. Period. Keep it lean and keep it focused.

I really like Jackman as Wolverine. Even tho Orgins was totally horrible to Wolverines continuity I like the movie. It's entertaining, and with how much the X-Men movies have changed the X-Men, even Singers better movies, I don't even bother complaining myself. Anyone who reads my posts knows I can do a lot of complaining too. I think Wolverine needs to be a rated R movie for it to work. They need to show body parts getting hacked off. They don't need swearing, but they need that extra violence. I'd usually say violence doesn't need to be in movies just to be in movies but it does for Wolverine. At least make him fight the hand where they can use green blood instead of red and therefore working around the rated R rating. The Blade movies did huge numbers and might be the biggest reason comic book movies are even as successful as they are, why not do Wolverine for the adults. He's a hugely popular character but he's an adult character. When he's alone he goes out more then when he's with the X-Men.

I guess it has been delayed because of all the movies Marvel has been trying to do lately. Also I guess they want to make Avengers perfect so they want to work with that movie before they do another movie project like The Wolverine.
