Sheena Swings into an Ongoing Series

I don't know about the story but these are some nice looking pencils.

Chicago, IL – June 5, 2007– This year marks 70 years since Will Eisner and S.M. “Jerry” Iger introduced their groundbreaking creation SHEENA, QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE to comic fans worldwide. It is with this auspicious beginning in mind that Devil's Due Publishing, Inc. (DDP), with the jungle heroine reconceived by acclaimed action screenwriter Steven E. de Souza (DIE HARD, LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER: THE CRADLE OF LIFE), introduces the first issue of their new SHEENA serial. With SHEENA’S wild popularity, the series, originally solicited as a five issue monthly limited series, will now be ongoing beginning this June.

DDP will continue the adventures of the strong and beautiful Jungle Queen in SHEENA, QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE #1 (APR073605E) this June with five dramatic covers drawn by artists Joe Jusko, Nicola Scott, Tim Seeley, and Khary Randolph with a Tim Seeley sketch cover incentive. Each artist's sexy and exciting interpretation of Sheena will be accompanied by the first installment of a 5-issue story arc illustrated by Matt Merhoff and written by de Souza and Robert Rodi (Loki, Elektra, Rogue).

“It’s great to be a part of the re-introduction of a character with such a long history.” says DDP President Josh Blaylock. “I hope the readers enjoy the new Sheena, as much as I do. It’s a very layered, action packed story – and of course – as sexy and dangerous as ever!”
