Seriously Now, Blade's Joining The X-Men?!?

Another day, another crazy X-Men announcement. First we find out Spider-Man is going to be an X-Man. Then we found out that Lyra, the Savage She-Hulk is apparently joining. Today we find out that Blade will be running around with the mutants.
 
Is Blade a mutant? It all depends on what definition of mutant you use. Marvel has always gone with those that have been born with the genetic ability to develop powers. Most us can see someone like Spider-Man having mutated when he got bit by the radioactive spider. Blade is sort of a mutated result of his mother being bitten by a vampire. Is that enough of a reason to be allowed onto the X-Men? Blade likes to spend most of his time hunting vampires, are the X-Men going to be facing a bunch of mutant vampires soon?
 
Another thing we can get out of this image is it appears that little Hope will be surviving Second Coming. I have to admit I'm curious to see where all these new additions to the X-Men will go. Is this just a temporary thing (most likely yes) or is this just a bold new direction Marvel will take? If we all want to embrace diversity, we have to accept non-traditional mutants on the team, right?

IT's probably only temporary! And did anyone else notice that on Hopes costume, unlike what it looks like in Second Coming, that it has a  PHOENIX emblem as the top 'arrow'?

Blade IS a mutant. He was mutated  in the womb and was born with his powers and abilities and has none of the vampires weaknesses (except for bloodlust)
(meaning he's a mutant vampire...still a mutant.) 
 
(Vampirism causes systemic mutations just as radiation or a serum can it simply uses a "viral" catalyst)
 
He is a mutant in every sense of the word.

These people aren't going to be literal "X-Men".  
Well, the mutants probably will. 
But everyone else. 

Something tells me this is dealing with a brand new idea as to what an "X-Man" is. 
They've shut themselves off completely from society, and they're obviously going to be working with the entire Marvel Universe to really become part of a community, again, rather than separate from.

 During the events of the " Civil War" over the registration of superpowered individuals, Blade registers and begins cooperating with S.H.I.E.L.D. This alliance allowed Blade access to S.H.I.E.L.D. tech, gaining himself a "gun hand" to replace his missing one.

Wow Marvel can't please anybody these days, they should just keep everything the same and never change a thing lol...NOT!!!  Blade is a cool addition nobody else is doing anything with him and how many vampires can he kill?  Sorry but the vampire hunter thing is getting played, I like that they are mixing it up a bit.  It's blade so you gotta have vampires but not all the time.  And wasn't Blade born mutated? If I'm correct he had the ability to sense vampires and he was Immune to vampire bites.  In a sense he is a mutation even compared to a vampires standards.  He didn' t recieve the more vampire like powers until Morbius bit him which mutated him even more.  He's actually been mutated two times over from birth to Morbius so he's a hybrid and just as much a mutant as Ink(who is not but is a young x-man)...

I see that too... those little cuts in the yellow triangle on her chest that arent in line with her figure (my how shes grown). 
 
Haven't there been loads of non traditional mutants in X-Books though?  Ms. Marvel, Juggernaut, Polaris and Mimic all had their powers provoked rather than 'expressed.'  And hasn't it been said that Hulk, Spider-man and all mutates all had the predisposed genetics to mutation?  (no source on this last comment other than uncannyxmen.net and a couple DK books)

I always thought Polaris was one of those flux characters.  Like a machine gave her her powers, plus when she lost them she got new like absorbing negative emotions for strength or something.

not really...gives a little more insight, however rumors suggest this is somewhat of a mutants vs vampires storyline

Due to an enzyme in his blood stream resultant from his mother's being bitten by a vampire while giving birth to him, Blade is immune to the bites of typical, supernatural vampires. At certain instances he also appeared immune to vampire hypnosis as well.  
HE is unaffected by daylight and most other traditional vampire weaknesses.  
He also ages very slowly and can sense supernatural activity. 
  Michael Morbius
He lacked superhuman physical attributes, however, and relied solely on his considerable skill and determination until Morbius, an atypical, scientifically created vampire, bit him and Blade was turned into something resembling a dhampir.
 
Now Blade possesses superhuman strength, stamina, speed, agility, heightened senses, and a rapid healing factor that attacks any chemicals/viruses in his body and eliminates any chance of him being rendered helpless or maimed from the inside.

The X-men have always been open to none-mutant members, so I don't get why everyone is whining about it.
 
The reason for Blade joining has already been stated, from X-men #1 onwards there will be a vampire arc going on. Jubilee is also shown as a vampire in one of the pictures.

um NO blade stay away from our x-men please. blade is um well hes not that grate like really he hunts vamps wow grate hes cool and everything but really does he need to be in x-men in mean id rather see deadpool in x-men than blade. spider man well wolverine has is in a few diff teams at same time y not our web head
