The creator best known for MAD Magazine and Groo the Wanderer joins the Simpsons.

Sergio Aragonés is an awesome dude.  I talked to him last year at Wonder Con and he's such a friendly guy.  Sergio is best known for his work in MAD Magazine.  He's the guy that would draw those little comics in the margin of the magazine.  He is also known for creating Groo the Wanderer and the Mighty Magnor

Publishers Weekly has posted that Simpsons creator, Matt Groening announced Sergio will be a regular featured artist and writer in Bart Simpson Comics starting with issue #50.  He will provide the art for the entire issue as well as the cover.  A new ongoing feature will also be added, "Maggie's Crib."  Sergio will also be contributing to other Bongo titles.

It will be interesting to see his style on the Simpsons and how he will adapt it.  You can see the cover if you're not completely familiar with his work.  Also, it should be noted that Sergio recently came off a great run on DC's The Spirit comic book (as writer).  While he is a funny guy, he is also a great writer.  I can't wait to see what he will add to the Simpsons.

I like the Simpsons comics.  They've been doing a decent job capturing the essence of the show.  The good thing about them is they can sometimes go over the top and do things that wouldn't really work on the show.
